Ryan Reynolds did the world a favor by dragging Hugh Jackman out of his retirement from playing the Wolverine, the most popular character of his career. In return, Jackman has proved that the years-long retirement never hurt the Wolverine in him. He is still very much the character he was when he filmed Logan in 2017.

Deadpool & Wolverine slow-walked its way onto the screens in late July. The world is probably not going to shut up about it for a very long time, and for good reason. Every now and then, one of the team members behind the movie drops a new video clip, even when fans have barely recovered from the last one.

Hugh Jackman stepped foot in the professional acting business 13 seconds after he graduated from an acting academy. The years flew by as he kept giving one phenomenal performance after the other. He gained international recognition when he landed the role of Wolverine and has not looked back since.

Jackman played the role for so long that he earned the Guinness World Record for portraying a live-action Marvel superhero for the longest time. So, although heartbreaking, it seemed plausible that he wanted to retire from donning the suit once he bid farewell to the X-Man in Logan.

As fate would have it, Reynolds managed to convince Jackman to portray the clawed mutant one more time for Marvel Studios’ Deadpool & Wolverine. That became the turning point for the action-packed movie’s development.

The movie is peppered with numerous action scenes and one of the most poignant ones is at the end of the film when the Merc with the Mouth and Wolverine fight the countless variants of the former. Shawn Levy has recently posted a behind-the-scenes video clip on his official Instagram.

In the video, Jackman can be seen doing ADR (automated dialogue replacement), and it shows just how hard the actor has worked to do justice to it. His dedication seems to be paying off as the movie is well on its way to touching the billion-dollar mark.

Two months ago, no one could have imagined that this year would witness a billion-dollar grossing movie. However, everything is starting to look possible with Deadpool & Wolverine as the movie has already made $824 million globally (via Variety) just after two weekends of release. It is very likely that by the end of its theatrical run, it is going to earn $1 billion.

This has not only made it the highest-grossing movie of the year but also the highest-grossing movie of the Deadpool trilogy. It is also the third highest-grossing R-rated movie, with Oppenheimer and Joker in the second and first positions, respectively.
