“I can’t do it, I’m too old”: Kelly Ripa is Not Happy With Her $120 Million Worth Career, Wishes For a Different Life
Kelly Ripa has been a part of the TV industry for a very long time now. Her career began with her first TV appearance in 1986 on the dance reality TV series, Dancin’ On Air. Very soon she took up various acting gigs and rose to fame in the early 90s. Since 2001, she has been the co-host of the morning talk show Live! with Kelly and Ryan. However, it seems like the TV host no longer likes the fame as she revealed that she has been planning to leave the industry for a while now. She wishes to take up a job that is away from the spotlight.
Kelly Ripa wants to quit her job
TV host Kelly Ripa recently appeared on Bethenny Frankel’s Just B podcast and revealed that she wants to quit her job as she does not like being in front of a camera anymore. She said,
“For 20 years I’ve been saying, ‘I can’t do it anymore. I can’t do it. I’m too old for this crap. I need to find another career. I need to get off camera.’ I’ve been saying that forever.”
She believes that she is too old for this job and wants to take up a job that is away from the cameras and the media spotlight.
The TV host doesn’t like the attention
Ripa further added that she is not very fond of working in front of the camera. Bethenny Frankel then asked her if she was “self-conscious about the way” she looks or does not “want the attention.” Ripa said,
“I’m not very comfortable. I always say I could do my job for 200 years if it didn’t happen on camera. I don’t like the attention, I don’t go to parties, I don’t go to Hollywood events. I don’t do any of that stuff. I would rather buy clothes than have to ask to borrow anything. It’s painful.”
She made it clear that she does not like the attention that comes with her position. As a TV host, she has to be in front of the camera all the time.
Kelly Ripa hates her own voice
Ripa further stated that she even hates her voice and apologized to Frankel’s listeners. She said,
I don’t love being on camera. It’s never been something that fed me in any sort of egotistical way. I find my own voice grating, so I apologize to your listeners if they’re like, ‘This is nails on a chalkboard.’ I feel you.”
The TV host has been very candid about her life on her Instagram. She shares several beauty tips and documents her life for her fans. Maybe she needs a change now as fame is not everyone’s cup of tea.
