“I didn’t know if I was being funny”: Jennifer Lopez Got a Reality Check After Starring in The Wedding Planner Opposite Matthew McConaughey, Was Terrified of Acting Prowess of ‘Heavy Duty’ Hollywood Giants
Jennifer Lopez has had quite an illustrious career, both in movies and music. She is an accomplished singer and performer, along with impressive filmography as well. One genre that often recurs in her acting spectrum is romantic comedies and she is an ardent defendant of them. That being said, acting in romcoms come naturally to her. She has confessed to being intimidated by working in romcoms in the beginning, but her love for the genre and immaculate acting skills went on to give impressive outputs like Shall We Dance, Maid In Manhattan, What To Expect When You’re Expecting, and most recently Marry Me.
Jennifer Lopez is a huge rom-com fan
Jennifer Lopez‘s latest romantic comedy project Marry Me released earlier this year. During the promotion of this film, in which she co-starred with Owen Wilson, the 53-year-old made an appearance on The View. She shared her feelings for romcoms and how they are necessary for instilling hope in the hopeless times that we live in.
“But I honestly believe that these movies, especially in times like right now, they really give hope. At the end of the day, life is really about loving somebody, finding somebody to spend your life with, being happy. What are the important things? The important things are love, and kind of finding your way, finding your home. Because that becomes so important, especially in the hard times. So, I think these movies are really necessary.”
The timing of this statement also coincided with her blissful reunion with former beau Ben Affleck. They had gotten together a few months ago and were blissfully in love at the time that JLo insisted on the importance of finding love.
