“I didn’t think he was alive”: Witness Believed Jeremy Renner Was Not Alive As He Found Him in Pool of His Own Blood After the Snowplow Ran Over Him
Jeremy Renner is a well-known American actor and songwriter who has garnered widespread recognition for his renowned talent. The 52-year-old, Renner first gained recognition for his role in the 2002 film Dahmer and has since starred in numerous blockbuster movies such as The Avengers, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, and The Bourne Legacy, among others.
Since the snowplow accident that nearly took his life, a witness who found him described the scene as horrific and initially feared that Hawkeye performer had passed away. Marvel star, Renner has been making headlines for his harrowing experience.
Jeremy Renner Speaks About A Near-Death Experience
Following his harrowing snowplow accident that almost claimed his life, Jeremy Renner will be sitting down with Diane Sawyer for his inaugural television interview. Asked by Sawyer about how much of the pain he recalls, Renner reveals that he remembers every moment, stating, “All of it. I was awake through every moment.”
Further, she asked, You look at the mirror and do you see the same face? Renner responds, No I see a lucky man. In early January, Avengers star, Renner suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries when his Sno-Cat, a massive snowplow that weighs no less than 14,330 pounds, ran him over, leading to his hospitalization.
According to a report from a Nevada sheriff’s office, on New Year’s Day, actor Renner attempted to prevent his snowplow from sliding and colliding with his nephew. Unfortunately, he was dragged beneath the machine and crushed.
“I see him in a pool of blood coming from his head,” Renner’s nephew shares in the ABC News special. “I ran up to him. I didn’t think he was alive.”
In the preview for Wind River, Renner’s interview offers a glimpse into the distressing 911 call made to rescue the actor, where he can be heard moaning in agony as bystanders urge him to persevere. In addition, Sawyer enumerates a lengthy catalog of his injuries, which comprise,
“eight ribs broken in 14 places. Right knee, right ankle broken, left leg tibia broken, left ankle broken, right clavicle broken, right shoulder broken. Face, eye socket, jaw, and mandible broken. Lung collapsed. Pierced from the rib bone, your liver — which sounds terrifying.”
Despite maintaining a composed demeanor throughout the interview excerpt, the actor becomes emotional for a moment when Sawyer utters, “I heard that you had, in sign language, said to your family, ‘I’m sorry.”
Avenger’s Endgame actor, Renner says, “Yeah sorry, “I chose to survive. That’s not gonna kill me, no way,” he continued, “I’ve lost a lot of flesh and bone in this experience, but I’ve been refueled and refilled with love and titanium.”
The S.W.A.T. star shared a clip on social media where he can be seen walking with the help of an anti-gravity treadmill, marking his first steps following the accident. In the accompanying caption, he expressed, “Now is the time for my body to rest and recover from my will.”
Renner has been regularly updating his fans about his progress in physical therapy using social media since the January accident.
Jeremy Renner Pulled Under A Snowplow Trying To Save His Nephew
According to the incident report, while hospitalized on January 5, Renner informed investigators that the incident started on New Year’s Day when he removed his nephew’s truck that was stuck in snow from the actor’s driveway.
The 52-year-old Renner attempted to stop his snow-removal tractor from sliding onto his grown nephew and injuring him, but instead, he was dragged underneath the machine and crushed, according to a report from a Nevada sheriff’s office incident.
The snowcat vehicle, which drives on a track and crushed actor Renner on New Year’s Day, started sliding sideways because the parking brake was not applied, according to a redacted report submitted by the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office on Friday. He had used the vehicle to pull his nephew’s truck out of the snow before the incident occurred.
The conclusion of the report, states, “The Pistenbully snow groomer began sliding causing Renner to exit the vehicle without setting the emergency brake,” and continued,
“Although the Pistenbully had some mechanical issues, it is believed based on our mechanical inspection that the parking brake would keep the Pistenbully from moving forward. When Renner attempted to stop or divert the Pistenbully to avoid injury to (his nephew), he was pulled under the vehicle by the track and run over.”
The report also added, “The brake indicator light inside the snowcat’s cab was not functioning, and “mechanical issues may have been a factor in this accident.”
According to the report, the nephew assisted him until emergency services arrived, and he was then airlifted to the hospital.
Renner’s first public press appearance since the accident will be on his new Disney+ series Rennervations, Jeremy Renner: The Diane Sawyer Interview – A Story of Terror, Survival and Triumph” in April, which is set to premiere worldwide after the airing of the ABC News special called.
