“I didn’t want you to see me like that”: Jamie Foxx Breaks Silence After Near-Fatal Mystery Illness Left Fans Concerned
Jamie Foxx is famous for playing bold and versatile roles across his three-decade-long career.
His first significant break on the big screen came with the 1992 comedy Toys. But it’s his portrayal of dramatic and strong protagonists in movies like Any Given Sunday and Collateral that has influenced how we see the 55-year-old. The hard-partying quarter-back from Oliver Stone’s 1999 film and a composed taxi driver opposite of hit-man Vincent (Tom Cruise) have all poetically played their part in creating Foxx’s current image.

And there’s little doubt he cherishes how we see him, which also explains why for so long he let very little out about his personal fight off the screen.
Jamie Foxx Reveals Why He Kept Silent Over Mysterious Health Issue
In recent months, there have been a lot of murmurs surrounding Jamie Foxx‘s health. In April, his daughter Corinne Foxx revealed that he fell ill during the production of his movie Back in Action. Since then, he and his family maintained silence over the “medical complication”.
However, on Friday night, Foxx broke his silence to his 16 million followers on Instagram and explained the reason behind the same:
“I went through something I thought I would never, ever go through. I know a lot of people were waiting or wanting to hear an update, but to be honest with you, I didn’t want you to see me like that, man.
“I want you to see me laughing, having a good time, partying, cracking a joke, doing a movie or a television show. I didn’t want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was going to make it through.”

Foxx remained tight-lipped over his illness. Regardless, his fans will be happy to know that he’s finally on the road to recovery.

What Is Jamie Foxx’s Next Project?
As Foxx would like, it’s best we only see him at his happiest and strongest and only focus on his work.
Now that he’s healthy, it won’t be far-fetched to expect his forthcoming project Back in Action to accelerate. The movie is being directed by Seth Gordon, who also worked with Foxx for Horrible Bosses.
Further, Foxx is reuniting with Cameron Diaz for the action-comedy movie. They’ve previously worked twice – in 1999’s Any Given Sunday and 2014’s Annie.
Back in Action is an interesting name for the project that would not only see Foxx return to action after his health scare but also Diaz, who has remained out of the limelight since 2014 to focus on her family.
Netflix is taking charge of the project, which is expected to premier toward the end of this year.
