Freddie Prinze Jr. says he is ‘done’ with Kanan Jarrus from Star Wars

Actor Freddie Prinze Jr. who has voiced the character of Kanan Jarrus from Star Wars, in his interview with ComicBook.com addressed the potential return of the character in live-action. He said,

“Kanan’s story-at least for me is done. I thought it ended beautifully. People cried, I was vey happy for that. I don’t mean that like a jerk: our goal was to make you cry. I didn’t even want to do the little voice over in the last Star Wars movie, (The Rise of Skywalker). I thought it felt forced.”

When suggested that he could probably do a flashback sequence, he said he not looking forward to expanding the character’s role in Star Wars in any kind of way. He added,

“To me, every time I’m asked to do Kanan it water down what a beautiful ending. It’s this amazing powerful moment. So for me, that story’s been told, and it’s done, and I wouldn’t have any interest in that. And it would be weird to play a different character in that universe. So I don’t have any ambition to be in Star Wars Universe.”

According to Slash Film, Kanan was never meant to be the same as that of Luke, Ahsoka, or Ezra. His arc in the Star Wars universe was always about becoming a Jedi Knight, embodying everything good about the order.

Dave Filoni shared noted that Ahsoka can be viewed as Rebels Season 5 via CBR,

“I suppose that’s one way of looking at it, because of the epilogue that I did in Rebels. We never want to create a sitiation where you feel like you have seen these things because then you’re missing out. I don’t know how fans feel, but like, do you have to have seen Star Wars: The Clone Wars to understand Ahsoka? No, you don’t have to have to seen that.”

Ahsoka is streaming on Disney+.
