Based on George Lucas’ Star Wars, and Jon Favreau’s The Mandalorian starring Pedro Pascal, Katee Sackhoff is the first live-action series produced in the Star Wars franchise. The interconnected spin-off series including The Book of Boba Fett, Ahsoka, and Skeleton Crew expands on The Mandalorian timeframe which begins five years after the events of 1983’s Return of the Jedi.

With three seasons out, The Mandalorian has managed to garner positive reviews from the critics as well as the audience. Is The Mandalorian Season 4 turning into a Star Wars movie?

According to Jeff Sneider’s The Hot Mic podcast which he hosts with John Rocha, his source from Disney had informed him that the upcoming season for The Mandalorian would be a Star Wars movie. He said,

“A couple of months ago, I shot this one down, that there were rumors that season four of The Mandalorian could be turned into a movie. I think at the time I didn’t think that was necessarily the case.”

Sneider continued to explain,

“However, that is now what I am staring to hear. That the odds are in that projects favor, whatever season four of The Mandalorian turns out to be, whoever is in it, what it turn out, whatever shape it takes, it is looking like that could be the next Star Wars movie and that might be the thing that’s announced before the end of the year.”

This is not the first time there have been talks about The Mandalorian season four turning into a feature movie. Earlier, MakingStarWars reported that the series could be heading in the direction of a feature movie. No matter how reliable these sources are, nothing can be said officially until Disney shares an official statement.

Pedro Pascal on his return as The Mandalorian for season four

Pedro Pascal plays the title character in the show is without a doubt currently one of the actors who is in demand, especially after his exceptional performance in The Last of Us. During an interview with Radio Times, the actor was asked about his return to The Mandalorian for the upcoming season. He said,

“It’s a mystery. There’s such preciousness around even saying that I’m signed up for season four if it’s already written.”

The actor added,

“I’m naturally a blabbermouth, but I really get protective of it because I get thrill out of surprises that are in store for the audience. And I don’t want the likes of you to ruin it for everybody by answering your questions.”

Pedro Pascal didn’t reveal if he’d be a part of the upcoming season or not. Jeff Sneider on his The Hot Mic podcast said,

“I don’t know how you get him on camera if this movie winds up being next given his schedule for the next four to six months. Maybe it is another person in the suit and he comes in and does voice over. I don’t know.”
