Chris Hemsworth Breaks His Silence On Retirement Plans From MCU
It’s difficult to imagine someone else in the shoes of Chris Hemsworth’s Thunder God Thor. The tinsel town is bumbling with the rumors of Chris Hemsworth retiring from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The speculations have already made the fans of Thor: Love and Thunder’s actor sad. The possibility of Chris Hemsworth not lifting his hammer on the sets of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has become a talking point in the entertainment world.
Recently, during an interview with the media outlet Entertainment Weekly, the Snow White And The Huntsman star was asked if he would be reprising his Marvel character Thunder God, to which, Chris Hemsworth replied, “Maybe!” He even mentioned the future of his acting career with respect to his upcoming projects. The actor said-
“I’ve got to be careful how I word that because I have no idea what’s happening in the next phase. There are always conversations, like with Extraction. Before anything is official, people are throwing around ideas. But officially, I don’t know.”
He had previously mentioned that as an actor it is his duty to entertain his audience. The Men In Black actor said-
“I don’t want to continue to do it until people are so exhausted that they roll their eyes when they see me come on the screen as that character. If an audience wants to see it, and if there’s something that we believe is exciting and fun, then great.”
Chris Hemsworth has been a part of the billion-dollar franchise for more than a decade. On reinventing his Marvel character, the actor confessed that he would love to reinvent that character a few times. He rose to fame after portraying the Thunder God in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Chris Hemsworth On Almost Getting Lit During The Filming Of Extraction 2
In an exclusive chat with the reputed media house People at the premiere of Extraction 2 in New York City, Chris Hemsworth spoke about the sequel, the adrenaline-high stunts, and even how he went on to save himself while filming for a stunt on the sets of the Netflix series. The actor said his stunts went wrong multiple times on the set, leaving him wounded as a souvenir. Chris Hemsworth mentioned- “Oh, yeah, yeah. Lots of bumps and scrapes and all that. It’s all part of the fun. It’s good.”
The actor’s injuries did not dampen his daredevil spirit on the sets of his upcoming series. While talking about Extraction 2, whether he was nervous about the stunts- that included helicopters landing on the trains, Chris Hemsworth replied with a huge smile and said he was more excited to take them on. He said-
“Initially, when [director] Sam [Hargrave] pitched it to me, I was kind of shaking my head going, ‘Hang on, hang on, how is this even possible?’ And then the excitement kicks in. On the day, it’s like being a kid, it’s like being involved in the most crazy sporting experience you’ve ever been a part of.”
The Avengers star further added-
“My kids were there on set a lot to see this stuff and they wanted to jump in front of the camera and participate. There were about three or 400 extras in the opening sequence of that shot, and things on fire — I was on fire at one point. “
Chris Hemsworth even said that his experience while filming the second season of Extraction was physically exhausting as it was all about stunt rehearsal after stunt rehearsal. He said- “It was by far the most exhausting, physically draining taxing experience I have ever had.”
After the mammoth success of the first season of the action-drama, Extraction 2 would be aired on June 16, 2023, on Netflix.
