“I feel quite disconnected”: Robert Pattinson Has a Strange Confession About His Batman Role That Might Upset a Few Fans
Hollywood’s acclaimed actor, Robert Pattinson, was immensely admired after he played the caped crusader in The Batman. However, the actor revealed feeling disconnected after completing the project.
Robert Pattinson indisputably is one of the most impeccable actors who has landed many successful roles in the world of entertainment since he was young, one of which is the role of Batman in 2022’s The Batman. The actor, in an interview, along with co-star Barry Keoghan, reveals feeling disconnected from the movie after it was done.
Robert Pattinson Claims Feeling Disconnected After Completing The Batman
Robert Pattinson was cast as the main lead in The Batman, for which he was even lauded by fans for his exceptional performance and for portraying the superhero in his unique way. However, in an interview with Wonderland Magazine, alongside his co-star Barry Keoghan, who played his classic nemesis in the movie, disclosed his experience while watching himself onscreen.

The Twilight actor mentioned struggling to watch his movies after completing the projects. Pattinson also revealed feeling detached from The Batman afterward:
“[Laughs] Do you still feel like when the film is done, you’re connected to it? I used to really struggle to watch myself. Now, once it’s finished, I feel quite disconnected. I mean, not disconnected in a bad way, but it’s kind of like if…”
The Lost City of Z star also talked about being nervous while starting every new project, which makes him feel like an amateur who has just begun acting. Robert Pattinson often finds it difficult to remember certain things about his projects and compares them with “a huge mountain to climb.” However, despite the challenges and setbacks, the High Life star finds excitement in securing distinctive roles.

In the same interview, while talking about how actors earning fame in the industry brings challenges and struggles too, Robert Pattinson shed light on the changing dynamics of fame. He mentions that when an artist becomes more famous, they gradually lose the ability to make things up and have to stay extra careful with their acts. The Water of Elephants star said:
“I think also a lot of the people who are drawn to acting when they’re younger are people who really like bullshitting and you have no qualms about bullshitting to anybody. Once you start getting known, then it’s like, ‘Oh, my entire social ability was based on just making stuff up all the time.’ And now, there’s consequences for making stuff up.”
Pattinson also talks about keeping the energy throughout the movie instead of being rigid, which might eventually affect their performance. The actor’s co-star, Barry Keoghan, agreed with the Cosmopolis star and continued to share insights on acting.
Robert Pattinson has been asked several times about reprising the role of Batman to which he has openly admitted the desire to make a trilogy (via The Direct) or make it as many times as his fans want to see him. The actor found the role fun to play and is ready if the makers wish to make another hit.
