“I feel safe”: Taylor Swift’s Twilight Fame Ex-Flame Taylor Lautner Marks Himself Safe from Singer’s Notorious Songs, Prays for John Mayer Instead
As Swifties continue to lose their mind over Taylor Swift’s back-to-back releases, Twilight star Taylor Lautner was caught praying. As the Bad Blood singer prepares to release the Taylor’s Version of her third studio album Speak Now, Lautner prepares himself for some unwanted renewed attention. The two briefly dated each other in the year 2009 and in comparison, to her past relationships with other boyfriends, she has no grievances about Lautner. Instead, the album Speak Now contains a widely speculated apology for the actor.
In an interview with TODAY, the actor revealed, that he isn’t worried about himself upon the re-release of the album instead he is praying for John Mayer. It is speculated that the controversial song Dear John from the Lover singer’s album was written for Mayer whom she dated after her relationship with the Twilight actor ended.
Taylor Lautner on the re-release of Taylor Swift’s Speak Now
In 2009, Taylor Lautner and Taylor Swift‘s paths crossed while working on the romantic comedy Valentine’s Day. Their friendship and undeniable chemistry led to the blossoming of a romance off-screen that everybody rooted for. But unfortunately, it was short-lived, as their relationship ended almost as quickly as it began. And the singer did what she is notoriously known for the best, she speculatively wrote and dedicated a song on her third studio album Speak Now to her ex-boyfriend Lautner.
And now, after regaining her rights, paving the way for others, and revolutionizing the music industry, she is set to re-release her third studio album and Lautner is being questioned about his thoughts on Back to December. In an interview with TODAY, the star revealed,
“I think it’s a great album,–Yeah, I feel safe.”
He then jokingly further added,
“Praying for John.”
This again revived the much-talked rumor and reminded people of the relationship between the singer and John Mayer. This was the much-need confirmation the fans needed to make their thoughts run amuck.
Taylor Swift and John Mayer’s relationship
While Taylor Lautner is one of the most loved ex-boyfriends of Taylor Swift, John Mayer is one among the least. The two dated briefly somewhat in between 2009 and 2010. After their breakup, Taylor Swift poured her emotions into the song, Dear John. Released on her 2010 album Speak Now, the song swiftly garnered attention due to its lyrics that hinted at a troubled romance the two had with a pinch of heartbreak and betrayal. While Swift never explicitly confirmed that the song was about Mayer, the hints were too hard to ignore. Now that she is re-releasing her album, Mayer better be prepared for the worst.
In a 2012 Rolling Stone interview he said,
“Because I didn’t deserve it. I’m pretty good at taking accountability now, and I never did anything to deserve that. It was a really lousy thing for her to do,–I never got an email. I never got a phone call. I was really caught off-guard, and it really humiliated me at a time when I’d already been dressed down. I mean, how would you feel if, at the lowest you’ve ever been, someone kicked you even lower?”
Everyone involved in the party has now moved on, the re-release of Swift’s album will not take her fans back to the past, but will also treat them with incredible music.
