“I have thought about that”: Nick Offerman is Full of Great Ideas To Make America Truly Great Again Despite Playing Controversial Leader in Civil War
American actor and producer Nick Offerman is widely known for his role as Ron Swanson in the NBC sitcom Parks and Recreation. In fact, for playing Swanson, Offerman got the Television Critics Association Award for Individual Achievement in Comedy and was twice nominated for the Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.
Surprisingly, apart from having a knack for comedy, Offerman is a very sensible and considerate man in real life. Keeping aside his jokes, he seems really good at making political decisions.
Nick Offerman on What He Would Do as the President of U.S.
Towards the end of a recent interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the host was showering Nick Offerman with compliments and suddenly, came up with an interesting question. Kimmel inquired about the possible steps that Offerman would take if he were the president of the United States of America.
Offerman was ready for this question and mentioned a few things that his presidency would like to see actively happening. To start, the Parks and Recreation star mentioned how he would attempt to improve the green sector of America.
“I have thought about that. I’m going to pay a lot of attention to our agriculture… I would urge our government to pass a new farm bill that pays attention to our farmers.”
Further, he also mentioned his interest in reinstating woodwork, kitchens, and sewing in the schools so that children could learn how to make things with their hands. Looks like Offerman is really a visionary president in his mind, after all.
Is Nick Offerman Actually Keen to Enter the World of Politics?
Although in the interview with Kimmel, Offerman expressed his ideas that he would like to implement as the American president, he in reality isn’t interested in politics. In another interview, Offerman clarified the above.
Regarding his upcoming movie Civil War, Offerman dismissed any link between real-world politics and the movie’s aim. He told The Hindu:
“When you see the movie, it’s so unattached to anything in modern politics, not only in our country but any country.”
Also, on being asked if he and his wife are interested in joining politics, Offerman rejected the offer in a rather humorous way.
“I’ve considered it, but I just don’t think they have a great grill and meat smoking setup in that entire neighborhood. So, unfortunately, I think we’ll just stick to entertaining.”
It is therefore safe to conclude that even though Mr. Offerman has a vision, he would like to stick with his present lifestyle and does not want to jump into a volatile dynamic like politics.
