Benedict Cumberbatch almost became a lawyer
The actor Benedict Cumberbatch, who is best recognized for his work in The Imitation Game, comes from a family of actors, with both his mother and father being in the acting business. Surprisingly, because of knowing how difficult and unpredictable this career path might be, his parents genuinely encouraged him to become a lawyer. They put a lot of effort into giving him a decent education in the hopes that he would pursue a more reliable ambition and choose a more stable profession.
Cumberbatch thought about going into law because he thought it was similar to acting, but he ultimately decided to pursue his “primary dream” and enrolled in drama classes at Manchester University.
Benedict Cumberbatch’s parents did not like his choice of acting as a career
Benedict Cumberbatch admitted that his parents were not really pleased with his decision to pursue a career in acting when asked about how they felt. Cumberbatch claimed that his parents felt “awful.” In the hopes that he might choose a different career path, such as law, medicine, or teaching, they had worked incredibly hard to provide him with an excellent education. However, he remarked, “I just kept kicking it back.” Acting was always Cumberbatch’s passion, and he was unable to resist the rush of performing.
After giving being a pastor some thought, he came to the conclusion that it didn’t make sense to give up on his original goal in favor of a less certain option. In order to pursue his actual passion for acting, he chose to listen to his heart and put forth a lot of effort. Cumberbatch appears to have achieved the success he deserves as a result of his dedication to acting and the hard work he put into it.
