In a recent interview, actress Lucy Liu, well known for her iconic roles in movies like Charlie’s Angels, has provided insight into her journey towards becoming a mother. Talking about this in a heartfelt interview the 53-year-old actress recalled the time when she welcomed her son Rockwell back in 2015 through surrogacy. Liu talked about her headfirst decision-making throughout this process.

Lucy Liu Recalled Her Journey into Motherhood

In a recent interview with The Cut, renowned star of Shazam! Fury of the Gods Lucy Liu recalled her journey towards motherhood. Talking about this Liu said that she did not think too much into the matter and took the first leap towards it.

Talking about her son Rockwell, Liu said that when she decided to be a mother through surrogacy, there was no research at all as she went into the process completely blind. Liu said “I didn’t have a plan. I just thought, ‘I want to change the conversation a little bit.’” 

She further added that her entire decision to become a mother was completely based on her desire; hence, she did not look much into it as she did not want to think of all the reasons not to become one in her mid-40s.

Recalling this Liu said “I didn’t mull it over too much. I didn’t do a lot of research; I just pulled the trigger.  I can think myself out of something easily. If I think too much, I won’t do it. It’s better for me to feel something and just go for it. A lot of people read books about parenting. I didn’t do any of that. I was like, ‘When the child is here, I’m just going to figure it out.’”

While talking about welcoming her son to her life through surrogacy with People, Lucy Liu said that it was indeed the best option for her as she was working and she had no idea when she was going to stop. She also said that surrogacy was the best possible option for her and indeed it turned out to be the best.

Talking about this project Liu expressed her excitement and emphasized the significance of showcasing a true story through a virtual world.
