Now in a recent interview with CBS Mornings, the actress was asked about the infamous slap which she thought was a skit and then received immense backlash from fans.
The Girls Trip star shared that she will forever stand by her husband no matter what the situation is. Pinkett Smith said:
“Being there with him that night, what I did know, was that I might not have walked in there as his wife, but I left that night as his wife, and as I sit here today, I am going to be by his side, always.”
Will Smith’s wife received negative comments from fans after she publicly opened up about her tumultuous and troubled relationship with the Oscar-nominated actor which even took a toll on their children especially on Jaden Smith and Willow Smith after their mother continued to publicly expose the dark secrets of her split with their father.
The Set It Off star previously also shared while promoting her memoir that she and Will Smith will forever stay by each other’s side, irrespective of their prevailing situation that even hurt their children.
Will Smith Says His Relationship With Jada Pinkett Smith Was Brutal and Beautiful
While Jada Smith was promoting her memoir at the Enoch Pratt Free Library in Baltimore, her husband Will Smith surprised her with his presence to support her amid the revelation she had made which earned the actress enough hate. The Focus star shared that his relationship with Pinkett Smith has been brutal and beautiful at the same time, and that’s why they call it “brutiful”. According to the Baltimore Sun Smith said:
“I just really wanted to come out and just be here and hold it down for you the way you have held it down for me…We have had a very, very long and tumultuous [relationship]. We call it ‘brutiful.’ It was brutal and beautiful at the same time.”
The actress previously shared that she and Will Smith have refrained from getting divorced and as they try to make their relationship work they expect good from people. During the event, the actress then added:
“Will and me are good. All the people who don’t understand and got something to say are just going to have to fall in line. The truth of the matter is I’m not leaving Will’s side and he’s not going to leave mine. We’ve been on a powerful quest. And I’m happier than I’ve ever been.”
The Matrix Reloaded star has often mentioned that the infamous Oscar slap has brought the couple closer since they separated as husband and wife in 2016.
