Marvel finally released a clip for Agatha: Darkhold Diaries featuring Kathryn Hahn who plays the complex witch Agatha Harkness in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, what’s even more intriguing to know is that fans don’t think she deserves a standalone show.

A few days back Marvel shared the teaser for Agatha: Darkhold Diaries which will revolve around Agatha the witch who was introduced in Elizabeth Olsen’s WandaVision. And not every fan believes that this spinoff is worth featuring Agatha as she was one of the most hated in Olsen’s series. However, actress Kathryn Hahn has shown excitement over playing a witch in the MCU.

Kathryn Hahn is all set to reprise her role as Agatha Harkness from Elizabeth Olsen‘s WandaVision series, and this spinoff will serve the story of Agatha who’s significantly connected with Scarlet Witch aka Wanda Maximoff as she is portrayed as her mentor who taught different magical arts and helped master her powers. In the comics, she’s a powerful witch who has been a mentor to many characters.

Even though she’s a considerable character in the books who has successfully made it to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, many fans believe that this witch isn’t worthy enough to have a standalone series at this point. They have shared their mixed opinions on a post shared on X (earlier Twitter) by Discussing Films:

In WandaVision Agatha gets intrigued by Wanda Maximof’s powers and tries her best to manipulate the events in Westview and finally challenges Scarlet Witch as her magical adversary. As Hahn portrayed a complex and antagonist character, Olsen’s fans didn’t like her.

In the featurette shared by Marvel including a clip from Agatha: Darkhold Diaries, head writer Jac Schaeffer and co-executive producer Mary Livanos shared their views and moments while making this spinoff. While talking about her pitch to Marvel for creating a series revolving around Agatha’s story Schaeffer shared:

“I remember Kevin [Feige] saying to me, ‘We really should think about an actual Agatha show,’ and I was like, ‘Where do I sign for that job?”

The co-executive producer then explained what type of a character Agatha exactly is and why it’s important to know her story. Lavinos added:

“The character is so deep and heartfelt and dangerous. Continuing the story of Agatha and getting to know her more was immediately an imperative for us as creatives. There would be nothing more delicious to Agatha Harkness than to be in a spinoff.”

Kathryn Hahn mentioned being extremely excited about the show and especially, doing a character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, thrilled her like never before.
