Marvel director Mohamed Diab got candid about his thoughts on James Gunn and Zack Snyder’s movies. The comparison between these two incredible directors has been a major topic in the superhero world since Gunn has taken over the DC universe. With fans providing mixed reviews on this, Mohamed Diab also presents his preference.
Marvel Director Expressed His Opinions on Zak Snyder’s DCEU Films
Marvel director Mohamed Diab expressed his opinions on Zack Snyder‘s work in the DC universe that might not go well with the snyderCult. However, the director undoubtedly is entitled to share his preference over James Gunn and Snyder’s movies in the superhero world. The Man of Steel director has directed several successful movies within the franchise and now it’s James Gunn who is all set for a reboot.
In an interview, the Moon Knight director Mohamed Diab was asked about James Gunn’s upcoming DCU, and what he thinks about it. Diab told The Cosmic Circus:
“I liked James Gunn’s films much more. I think he’s a much greater artist and a very clever writer, and he will do excellent work for DC. I hope people won’t just criticize him because if he loses the DC audience, he’s done. But he is an artist, and he will create wonderful things.”
The Moon Knight director praised James Gunn and declared his preference for Gunn’s work over Snyder’s era of the DCEU. He mentioned that even though Zack Snyder’s Justice League was better than the original, it did not appeal to him. Diab considers Gunn an excellent artist and expressed optimism that the director would do incredible work in DC and encouraged people not to criticize him.
Marvel Director Mohamed Diab is a Fan of Batman
While the Moon Knight director was praising James Gunn and his work, he was also based on his favorite character. Mohmed Diab disclosed that Batman is his favorite superhero. The director acknowledged Christopher Nolan‘s creativity in the trilogy which captured Diab’s attention and praised Matt Reeves‘ take on The Batman for its new perspective of the character. The director said:
“I’m a fan of Batman. I’d like to give Batman a different take, a Noir style. A movie with drama. Christopher Nolan made us all see that it’s a dramatic movie about someone with tragedy. The new perspective in ‘The Batman’ is very nice. Whether it’s Batman or someone else, the idea of a person with a real human story, not just a flying superhero.”
Almost every talented creator is fond of Christopher Nolan’s creative work and Diab proved to be no exception to this. The director’s work in Moon Knight was highly praised as Diab primarily focuses on delivering social and political issues in his projects. However, Moon Knight received positive views from people and introduced Diab to a new genre.
