The actress is part of the Night Court, and the series was renewed for a second season. While speaking about her new role, the 42-year-old also talked about The Big Bang Theory revival rumors.
Melissa Rauch says The Big Bang Theory ended perfectly and doesn’t want a revival
The Bernadette actress is currently starring in her dream project, Night Court, and the series recently got renewed for a second season. Melissa Rauch, at the age of 13 years, had binged watched the original show. Now the tables have turned, as after being approached to work as the producer of the sitcom, she ended up getting the main role. It’s her major project since the end of The Big Bang Theory.
The 42-year-old actress stars opposite John Larroquette. He reprised his role as Dan Fielding in the new Night Court. While comparing Larroquette’s return, Rauch also talked about The Big Bang Theory and its revival.
The Bronze actress hinted at her return to the show in the distant future. She even talked to her current co-star about the revival and compared it to if she is asked to return for the famous sitcom.
She said,
“I did think about what that would feel like if someone was coming to me 30 years from now asking me if I would come back. At this moment, I’d be like, ‘Ah, no, [‘The Big Bang Theory’] ended so perfectly.’ I would never want to tamper with that.”
The actress stated a revival of the show could work but further in the future. She added,
“I could see that happening. A revival right now — I’d be like, ‘Nah, I don’t think so.’ But 30 years from now, if someone came knocking on my door the way I did to John — never say never.”
Hopefully, someone comes to her and brings back TBBT, fans would be over the moon with the news. But for now, Rauch is happy with Night Court. She shared an emotional moment from the shoot of the Pilot of her new sitcom.
Melissa Raunch got a surprise from her The Big Bang Theory family
The actress grew up watching Night Court. Little did she know she would land a role in the sitcom decades later. Raunch got the lead role of Abby Stone in the series. She was smart enough to not let go of the opportunity to work alongside Larroquette.
While shooting the pilot for Night Court, the actress received surprises from her Big Bang Theory Family. Her producer and showrunner, Steve Molaro and Steve Holland showed up to the set. The moment turned emotional, but Rauch had to hold it together. She revealed,
“Steve Molaro and Steve Holland came by as we were filming one of the beginning scenes. I hadn’t seen the Steves since early 2020, so when they showed up, I was so insanely happy to see them.”
She was unable to make eye contact with them and revealed her happiness saying, “They were so awesome as always. I love those guys and my Big Bang family forever.”
The 42-year-old star plays the role of Abby Stone in the reboot, and the sitcom came out in January 2023.
The Big Bang Theory is available to stream on Netflix. While Night Court premiered on NBC.
