Colombian singer Shakira explained her current situation on her official Instagram account, which shows how much it hurts her. This clip shows a man in dress shoes stepping over a heart while walking through a busy area.
She captioned the post, “I never said anything, but it hurt. I knew this would happen.”
It’s unclear what happened or who hurt the She Wolf singer; but the post comes right after the Grammy winner’s split from her partner, Gerard Piqué. The fan-favorite couple announced their split in public recently after being together for more than a decade.
A joint statement states, “We regret to inform you that we are parting ways.” The couple added, “For the well-being of our children, who are our highest priority, we ask that you respect their privacy. Thank you for your understanding.”
Later, Shakira spoke out about the difficulty of having a public breakup.

Shakira feels more concerned for her children now and opens up about all the situations she faced during her split from Gerard Piqué.
In September, she told a media source, “I try to do it and protect them because that’s my number one mission in life.”
“But then they hear things in school from their friends, or they come across some disagreeable, unpleasant news online, and it just affects them.”
According to Hips Don’t Lie, she often feels like “this is all a bad dream” she will eventually wake up from, but knows in her heart “it’s real.” She continued,
“And what’s also real is the disappointment to see something as sacred and as special as I thought was the relationship I had with my kids’ father and saw that turned into something vulgarized and cheapened by the media.”
She felt frightened remembering this and continued, “And all of this while my dad has been in the ICU and I’ve been fighting on different fronts.”
Furthermore, the Waka Waka singer added, “This is probably the darkest hour of my life.”

Shakira and Gerard Piqué, are parents to two sons, Sasha and Milan. During filming for her Waka Waka (This Time for Africa) music video, the Hips Don’t Lie singer and soccer player Piqué met for the first time; and their relationship became public in 2011.
