“Oh my God, it was something similar to this [what she was wearing at the event], which is kind of ironic. It was a brown tan suit that we all loved so much, but the day we put it on, I was like, ‘Mmmm, it’s giving UPS drivers’, and that is not cute. Not for the red carpet anyway.”
She was referring to the red carpet look of the 69th Annual Parsons Benefit in New York, which was held back in 2017. Upon asking about the fashion choice she is proud of, Rihanna noted that her 2015 MET Gala outfit will always be an iconic and proud moment for her.
“Nobody will ever forget that, and I will never forget the feeling of discovering that designer based on the design challenge that Anna Wintour gave me. And damn! You know what? No one would ever expect this, but there’s also the Stella McCartney crop top and skirt and the party dress that she made me for that same MET Gala with my little a** crack out.”
