Hollywood actress Freya Allan, who plays Ciri in Netflix’s The Witcher, has expressed her thoughts on the major switch happening in the show. Henry Cavill, who played the primary protagonist, Geralt of Rivia, has chosen to exit the show, as Liam Hemsworth replaces Cavill for the role.

The news of his departure hit the fan community like a rock. And Allan has revealed that she too was not an exception to the apprehension of the main lead of the show changing. However, working with Hemsworth has deprived her of any worries she could have had regarding the switch.

Created by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, The Witcher follows Geralt of Rivia, the mutated monster hunter as he navigates the wicked world filled with beasts. Based on the eponymous book series by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski, the series is immensely popular. The Netflix adaptation also gained a large viewership across the globe.

Henry Cavill as Geralt quickly became a fan-favorite character. And the news of the actor’s departure from the show was not well-received within the fandom. With Cavill leaving, some fans have sworn off the show. The lead actor changing is always a big deal, so much so, that fellow stars feel the pressure of it too.

Freya Allan told ComicBook.com that she had similar apprehensions. She was initially “dreading” the switch that happened in the show. But her worries did not last long. Working with Hemsworth has helped her feel confident about the change happening. As she said herself:

“He’s [Hemsworth] lovely. Really, really sweet. Really, you know, a grounded person, and I was dreading it for a while, if I’m honest, but now I’m on it.”

Furthermore, the actress said that having a “great director” has helped her be more convinced of the direction the show is heading towards.

“We have, thank God, a great director starting us off which has made it so much fun. My storyline is just so much great stuff to play. I’m actually quite happy.”

It is plausible that the fans, who were not sure of the switch, might also be won over by Liam Hemsworth’s unparalleled charm and remarkable acting skills.

Moreover, Allan mentioned in the interview that she is aware of how the show comes to an end, and what the fate of Ciri will be. She said: “Yes, I know how it ends.” It will certainly be strange to see Hemsworth playing Geralt instead of Cavill. But strange things have a distinctive characteristic of sometimes ending up being good.

The Witcher Season 4 release date is yet to be announced. Watch the previous three seasons on Netflix.
