“I was just embarrassed for taking up space”: Geena Davis Felt Her Whole Life Unraveling After Working With Oscar-Winning DC Star on Brad Pitt Film
Geena Davis the iconic star known for her roles in movies like Stuart Little opened up about her experience working with Oscar-winning DC star Susan Sarandon. Both Davis and Sarandon worked together on the 1991 iconic Brad Pitt movie Thelma & Louise. While Davis herself is known for her versatile role and timeless beauty, she has never left a chance to talk boastfully about her co-star Sarandon and her impact on her career.
Geena Davis Was Inspired by Susan Sarandon’s Way of Life
In a candid interview, Geena Davis opened up about how Susan Sarandon had a transforming influence on her life. Talking about this on The Late Late Show with James Corden, Davis said that Sarandon had a lasting impact on her life.
Both Davis and Sarandon worked together in the 1991 movie Thelma & Louise. Talking about her experience, Davis said that on the set of Thelma & Louise, Ridley Scott the director of the film came in and asked them if anyone had any suggestions for the script. Recalling this movement, Davis said that while she was hesitant to give her idea, Sarandon was quick to speak about it.
Talking about this on The Late Late Show with James Corden, Davis said “I have planned out the grisliest possible way to talk about it. So, we sat down, and Susan was like “My first line here I think we should just cut that” and I was like, well I just never met a woman who says what she thinks, without being embarrassed about it”.
Further talking about this, Davis said that Sarandon was like that for the whole day and if anything, she was amazed by it. Talking about this Davis said, “She moved through the world in a way which was so different than what I had. I was just embarrassed for taking up space but she was just comfortable and the most important thing was nobody fell over or was horrified by her act”.
While this is not the first time Davis has praised Sarandon for her way of life, she also mentioned this experience in her book Dying of Politeness: A Memoir.
Geena Davis says she was Taught Not to Complain About Things
While talking about the impact of Susan Sarandon on her life Davis also opened up about her upbringing. Talking about her life and her childhood, Davis said that she has always been taught to be kind and polite.

Further, talking about this Davis also said that all her life she has been told not to complain about anything and that is how she has lived it. She did her best with whatever was given to her even in her career as an actor.
Although she admitted that Susan Sarandon, changed her perspective forever. Even though it has been years now since they shared the screen, both the actress still share a strong bond and cherish their friendship.
