If actor Brad Pitt hadn’t made a decision back in the day, the audience might not have had the opportunity to see the actor, who is regarded as one of the best in the business and has appeared in great films like Troy, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Ocean’s Eleven, Fight Club, and many more.

Thelma & Louise by Ridley Scott gave the actor the recognition he had been seeking, and even then, he hasn’t looked back. The actor made his acting debut in 1987 with uncredited roles in No Way Out, No Man’s Land, and Less Than Zero. But what decision did he make back then, that let Hollywood have him as one of the most admired actors? Let’s find out.

Brad Pitt dropped out of University of Missouri Journalism school

Bullet Train actor Brad Pitt, before venturing into the world of acting, was enrolled in the University of Missouri where he was pursuing Journalism, but decided to drop out just two days before his graduation.

During an appearance on NPR’s Fresh Air show, host Terry Gross asked the actor about whether he pursued journalism and what he expected to become, to which he said via Poytner,

“I wasn’t sure. I was just investigating for myself — they have one of the best J-schools in the country. It just came to the time of graduation and everyone — all my friends were committing to jobs — and I just realized I was not ready for that yet. I packed up my car. I didn’t graduate — I had two weeks left — and I moved out to L.A.”

The host asked the actor why didn’t he finish those two weeks, to which Pitt said,

“I just felt I was done; I was done with it. I knew where I wanted to go. I had a direction. I always liked those moments of epiphany when you have the next destination.” The actor, who had a deep passion for cinema while he was growing up, then decided to pursue acting as his career and went on to become one of the finest actors the industry has ever had.

Brad Pitt on his love for cinema and initial days in Hollywood

According to Far Out Magazine, the actor had a deep passion for cinema since his youth and viewed the world of cinema as a portal into a different world shared with Backstage in 2012,

“I grew up in Oklahoma and Missouri, and I just loved film. My folks would take us to the drive-in on summer nights, and we’d sit on the hood of the car. I just had this profound love for storytelling. I think it’s just an amazing thing we get to do. We’re so complex, mysterious to ourselves; we’re difficult to each other. And then here’s this storytelling that reminds us we’re all the same. I consider it such a privilege.”

The actor further recalled that when he moved to California, after a month of living at one of his friends’ places for free, he along with eight guys were living in an apartment in North Hollywood which he, describes as ‘it was a blast’.

To meet the ends, Brad Pitt noted during an interview with Tiger Beat via Far Out Magazine that he took up some odd jobs. He said,

“Those jobs kept me in Cap’n Crunch and peanut butter and jelly. It finally got so bad that my buddy and I said let’s see who can get the most humiliating job. I won! I got a job with a restaurant called El Pollo Loco. I dressed up as a chicken, stood out on the corner of Sunset in one-hundred-degree weather and flapped my wings for the Grand Opening. They liked me so much they asked me back!”

At the time, when asked where does he see himself in the next ten years, Pitt added he just wants to be a respected actor like Kevin Costner.

Brad Pitt takes a dig at ex-wife Angelina Jolie

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have been in one of the messiest divorces in the industry and recently the actor took a dig at his ex-wife for manipulating the media and the public with her tactics after the actress alleged that the judge who oversaw their child custody case was biased towards Pitt and favored him.

Jolie, according to the NY Post, is now using her experience to push legislation to check the corrupt officers of the court. The news comes after it was reported that Los Angeles Judge John W. Ouderkirk had refused to allow her kids to testify about the domestic violence they had endured at the hands of Pitt.

A source close to Pitt, however, disagrees, as shared, “Judge Ouderkirk was not in business with anyone”, adding that the ruling was based on a technical procedure. The source close to Pitt also added that it’s disappointing but not surprising that she would continue to manipulate the media and the public and deliberately make misrepresentations without any regard for the damage it causes to innocent third parties just trying to do their jobs.
