‘I Was On My Knees’: Katy Perry Wins The Internet For Generously Tipping Embarrassed Waitress After She Failed To Recognise Her

Hollywood pop star Katy Perry is known to have a heart of gold. This American personality has proved this with her recent encounter with an Aussie waitress, who had failed to recognize the star. The singer is currently in Australia with her partner Orlando Bloom while he is filming “Wizards!” in Far North Queensland. The couple recently headed to a Port Douglas café where the Aussie waitress didn’t recognize her.

Choo Choo’s worker, Indianna Paull, in an interview with Sunrise, shared that the singer came up on Saturday with her one-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove. She was the one who failed to recognize the star and later regretted the whole incident, however, it turned out well as the pop star generously accepted everything and stayed relaxed.

Aussie waitress shared how she was unable to recognize Katy Perry because she was wearing a hat and sunglasses, so told the star she would have to wait as there were no tables available. Though she, who hadn’t recognized the singer at that moment, shared “She handled it as any normal person would, I suppose. She was really nice the whole time and she handled it like a champ.” She knew that the star had to wait, and she partially gave the credit to herself telling, “I think partly because I didn’t recognize her was the reason she was so just so relaxed and chill about it.”

The waitress shared that the star approached her again and eventually sat in a part of the café that isn’t normally used.

She told, “I made a fool out of myself and said, ‘For future reference, we don’t usually seat people at this table.’”

The waitress recognized the star when the latter’s manager alerted her about the superstar customer. She said, “I just went red and went limp at the knees. I probably didn’t need to, but I felt like a fool, so I went over to her table and apologized.” She shared that was ‘shocked’ about how she acted in front of the superstar. She told, “In hindsight, I think the reason she wanted to get in so bad is that people were running around taking photos of her – I was so oblivious, running around like a headless chook, I had no idea.”

She even revealed that Katy Perry gave her a generous tip that was “much more than the usual $2 we get thrown in the bucket”. She continued, “She asked for my name and had a conversation with me and as she left she walked through the café and gave me a hug and was just really nice to everyone.

Katy was also recently spotted visiting a circus in Queensland, as she was seen posing for photos with the performers and staff after the show.
