The Maleficent star revealed that her mother Marcheline Bertrand was too supportive of her and never forced the actress to make the choices she made. Angelina Jolie’s mother respected the fact that everyone has their perspective of their individuality and they have the right to it.

All thanks to her mother Marcheline Bertrand who died of ovarian cancer in 2007, did not force her not to be exceptional and motivated Jolie to make choices on her own. According to The Guardian, while the Eternals star was speaking highly of her beloved mother she mentioned that Bertrand was a real lady who knew that Jolie was quite se*ual and respected the fact. Angelina Jolie said:
“She didn’t try to make me a mould of her. We were very different as women…She would always want me to sit next to the stranger on the plane because she was shy, right? While I loved her softness, she loved my strength. She was very still, and I’m constantly in motion.”
The actress explained that Bertrand sacrificed her career for the sake of her children and did not compel them to embrace a lifestyle that would impress her, but encouraged them to be who they are. Jolie added:
“I was very sexual, and she was much more of a lady. But she saw my true self and encouraged it fully, and she taught me to do that for my own children. My children are all very different from each other.”
The Bone Collector star explained how her mother became her strength and fostered inspiration within her to raise her children the way Bertrand did. Jolie mentioned that her children differ from each other which she embraces.
