“I wasn’t angry, I was in the hospital”: Meghan Markle’s Father Accuses Her Daughter of Lying in Netflix Documentary, Claims Meghan Did Not Care For Him Despite Two Heart Attacks
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been in the headlines recently due to one thing or the other. Netflix’s docuseries, Harry & Meghan follow the lives of the couple and in a recent episode, the Suits actress talked about her split from her father. The accusations made by the Duchess of Sussex have taken the Markle family by surprise and they have called the episode, ‘horrible‘ and ‘hurtful’ towards their family.
As reported by sources, it was revealed that King Charles and Thomas Markle have refused to watch the series. However, Thomas Markle replied to one of the incidents from the episode and accused his daughter of lying.
Meghan Markle claimed that her father’s phone had been compromised in 2018
In the third episode of Harry & Meghan, Meghan Markle talked about the drama surrounding her wedding. She revealed that she found out that her father was not going to attend the wedding through the internet. Thomas Markle suffered 2 heart attacks in 2018 and therefore was unable to attend the wedding. In the show, it is shown that the Duchess kept calling her father over and over again but he did not answer. She also texted him several times but the former actor did not respond right away.
After some time, the actor replied, “I’ve done nothing to hurt you Meghan, or anyone else.” A few minutes later, he sent another text that said, “If only I had died then you guys could pretend to be sad.” It was then that Meghan Markle said that she believed her father’s phone has been compromised. She said, “‘My dad used a lot of emojis and a lot of ellipses and dot, dot, dot, and this was just the opposite.” She further added that his calling her ‘Meghan‘ was the thing that threw her off the most.
Thomas Markle shut down his daughter’s claims of the phone being compromised
On Sunday, Thomas Markle talked about her daughter’s accusations of his phone being compromised in 2018. He said, “I wrote every word that I sent from that phone which is still in my possession.” He even talked about using her full name in the text. The former Hollywood actor said, “I have used Meghan’s full name before when things are serious.” He further explained his situation and said, “I wasn’t angry. I was in the hospital. They never once asked how I was doing. When I got their messages. I was upset.”
Even as he was in the hospital and the doctor had told him that he cannot fly to England, he still asked his daughter about who will be giving her away. He wrote, “Who will be giving you away? If you really need me? I will come I’m sorry about all this.” King Charles ended up walking her down the aisle for the wedding.
Prince Harry accused himself of the rift between his wife and her father at the end of the episode. Thomas Markle said that he still dearly loves his daughter and always will.
