While some celebrity roasts can fall flat, Kardashian’s jokes about herself and playful jabs at the former NFL star had everyone laughing out loud.
The crowd had different reactions when the reality star and businesswoman took the stage on Sunday night with a glass of champagne in hand. She appeared in a black strapless dress, decked out in diamond necklaces, and sporting platinum blonde hair.

Kim Kardashian‘s entrance had a bit of a rocky start at Tom Brady’s roast, with some boos from the crowd. But she turned it around quickly by making a joke about the host Kevin Hart‘s height before taking aim at the others on stage. The mom of four scored her biggest laugh of the night by addressing the recent tabloid rumors about her and Tom Brady possibly dating.
With perfect timing, she joked, “Speaking of Tom and I dating, I know there were some rumors that we were, and I’d never say if we did or not. I’d just release the tape,” referring to her famous leaked s*x tape that brought her family into the limelight.
To those who are unaware, Kim K and Ray J dated from 2002-2006, and reportedly filmed the s*x tape during a trip to Cabo in 2004. Back then, Kardashian was known primarily as a friend and stylist to socialite Paris Hilton. While she had some media presence, she wasn’t a household name.
The video didn’t become public until 2007 when rumors started spreading about footage owned by Vivid Entertainment. Kardashian initially sued the company to prevent its release but later settled. After the release of ‘Kim Kardashian Superstar’ in 2007, she reportedly received a multi-million dollar sum, around $5 million, for it (via The Cut). This controversy undeniably boosted her public profile.
The Kardashians (known for their business savvy) took advantage of all the attention surrounding the video. In 2007, they launched their own reality TV show, Keeping Up With the Kardashians. It became a massive hit and turned the entire family into superstars.
Kim Kardashian Compared Tom Brady to Her Stepdad
Continuing her humor, Kim Kardashian quipped, “But I do know it would never work out,” pointing out that the football quarterback is a former athlete with strong cheekbones and “silky hair.”
The crowd, initially unsure, burst into laughter and cheers. The Skims founder then continued, saying that Brady reminds her too much of her stepdad, Bruce Jenner (now Caitlyn Jenner). “Part of me thinks you would want to entrust me just to try on my clothes,” she added.
“I know the transition from the NFL must have been really hard, but I think my stepdad is a great example from you,” The 43-year-old continued. “She’s one of the best athletes in the world who’s proved you can do anything in this next chapter. You can become a commentator, a far right Republican, or even a strong, confident woman.”
