Kevin Hart’s humor felt like a belt on being criticized by the one he always looked forward to. Always seen in a jocular mood, Kevin Hart is one of the best stand-up comics in the world right now. Best known for his humorous characters in movies like Jumanji and Ride Along, he has been a healthy dose of dopamine for his fans.

Hart mentioned that he had been comical since childhood, and all his friends approved of it. No doubt he is the best in the business, and seemingly had a natural talent for comedy.

However, he was not so impressive in the eyes of Lucion Hold. Known for finding stars like Eddie Murphy and Jerry Seinfeld, Hold is a renowned manager and comedy club talent booker whose feedback had stabbed Hart in the heart.

Kevin Hart Was Left in Bits after Unexpected Feedback

Kevin Hart was very interested in pursuing comedy as his passion and profession. He went drooling when he found a chance to get in touch with one of the best managers, Lucion Hold. After spectating Hart’s live performance, Lucion Hold not only discarded his aspiration of being a comedian, but he also suggested that he should find another job other than comedy. Hold added that comedy wasn’t something that came naturally to Kevin, and hence, the chances of his success were significantly low. The Central Intelligence star told CNBC Make It

“I had put so much pride and wear and tear on myself to get that information. And then when I got it, it wasn’t what I expected it to be.”

The world could have lost a great comedian that day. Kevin Hart may not have considered not meeting his hero, but thankfully, he knew people who saw potential in him.

Although he felt dejected after the jarring feedback from Lucion Hold, Kevin Hart used that as further motivation to grind. He didn’t lose his spirit, as fellow comic Keith Robinson eventually recognized his talent and advised him to carry on.

Robinson suggested Hart should not let Lucion Hold’s feedback get under his skin and find some other place to perform. This selfless support and faith from his friend kindled Hart’s tenacity and he got highly motivated to embrace the struggle.

The actor further mentioned that no matter how big of an actor he becomes in Hollywood, his roots will always take him back to stand-up comedy because that’s where he truly belongs. Hart is absolutely right about this and the world couldn’t be more grateful that he didn’t quit comedy.
