I’d Stare at Them’: Vecna Actor Jamie Campbell Bower Reveals He Cuts Out the Eyes Out of His Victims’ Photos
The British actor looks like one of those grotesque supernatural villains in the blockbuster Netflix series alongside being one of the wardens at the Hawkins laboratory where Eleven was kept.
Bower Reveals Creepy Details About Vecna
If he had to get into the mindset of a vicious creature like Vecna, the 33-year-old stated that he would cross out his victims’ eyes and print off photos of them.
“I would take photographs of each victim,” Bower told People. “I’d print them off, my next victim, and I would cross their eyes out and put them up on my wall. And I’d stare at them.”
Executing Vecna WAS VERY TOUGH with heavy prosthetics
The actor added that the whole resentment was a “massive driving force for Vecna”; “And so preparing was about bringing that up and digging that up more, [which meant] a lot of heavy, dark meditation, low-frequency sounds, a lot of saying the same kind of thing over and over again.”
“I would clear my mind and then have these phrases that I would just put in over and over and over again. Walking around late at night. Isolation on my own was always a good thing.”

This also helped Bower as he was under heavy prosthetics while playing Vecna. The show’s make-up designer Barrie Gower told RadioTimes.com recently that Bower spent an average of around seven hours in transforming into the formidable villain.
Co-star Millie Bobby Brown Was Too Scared of Bower
Bower also revealed that he scared co-star Millie Bobby Brown so much that she was left “in tears” as he was “so scary” on the set, as the young Henry Creel.
Meanwhile, the Duffer Brothers, the show’s creators have finally responded to Millie Bobby Brown’s criticism of their failure to kill many characters off.
The second volume got over with everyone getting back to Hawkins. El’s fight with Vecna resulted in the tearing apart of Hawkins, making it likely for a few new monsters to appear from the Upside Down.
Will also came back and felt Vecna’s presence. So Vecna will surely return in the next season for another fierce final fight with Eleven. However, we still do not know what will kill him.
