Glen Powell is one of the rising stars in Hollywood, but what has to be noted here is that he is experiencing this rise after a long struggle in the industry. For someone who started acting when he was a teenager, his breakthrough seems to have taken a long time to happen.
The point is that once he had his breakthrough, not only did he rise through the ranks quickly, but also achieved unparallel fame among cinephiles. So much so that it seems like he has always been around.
Not to mention that his hard work, charm and caring nature has left his co-workers with nothing but good things to speak of him. One such co-worker is his Top Gun: Maverick co-star Danny Ramirez, who has recently shared his honest thoughts about ‘Hot Glen Summer’.
Danny Ramirez on Glen Powell’s Rise in Hollywood
Glen Powell‘s professional acting debut came with his role in the movie Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over, which featured industry heavyweights like Sylvester Stallone and Antonio Banderas. He went on to star in guest roles and small roles in numerous movies and shows until his career saw a new dawn in 2018.
That was the year when the Netflix rom-com Set It Up was released, and it attracted a significant amount of attention towards the actor. That same year, he joined the cast of Top Gun: Maverick, the movie that changed his life for once and all.
Not only did he gain international recognition with this movie, but also seems to have made friends for life. While Tom Cruise might be on top of the list of friends Powell made while working on the movie, he also has a friend in Danny Ramirez, who is also no stranger to fame.
Recently, while being interviewed by The Hollywood Reporter during the press line at the San Diego Comic-Con, Ramirez was asked for his thoughts on the Scream Queens actor’s rise in the industry. The On My Block actor replied:
He’s a grinder. If anyone deserves [success], it’s him because he cares about movies so much. So seeing the projects he’s putting up and seeing people feel that… It’s fantastic.
Post his rise to fame with the Top Gun: Maverick, Powell has kept entertaining the world with hit after hit. His rom-com Anyone but You turned out to be a sleeper hit, the dark comedy Hit Man proved to be a hit with fans and now the disaster film Twisters is taking the world by a storm.
