Besides his love relationships, Andrew Garfield made headlines and is still celebrated for his role in the Spiderman film series. However, despite being praised for his role, his second movie couldn’t impress the audience until he made an appearance in Spiderman: No Way Home.

Recently the actor was asked to express his feelings about fans preferring Tom Holland and Tobey Maguire as the web-slinger instead of him, to which Andrew Garfield clearly states that it’s people’s loss not to love him. He was commended by fans for returning as Spiderman along with Holland and Maguire, and he expressed being content with it.

Andrew Garfield Doesn’t Care If People Dislike Him as Spiderman

The Spiderman movies have never failed to steal the spotlight from Tobey Maguire to Tom Holland. However, Andrew Garfield‘s second installment of The Amazing Spiderman couldn’t earn him the love and praise he received in the first movie, and guess what? he isn’t concerned about the criticism at all. And why not? After all, he played the amazing Spiderman.

During the Red Sea Film Festival, Variety asked the Tick, Tick…Boom! star what he thinks of the criticism he received in The Amazing Spiderman 2, to which Andrew Garfield replied:

“I’m 40 years old. If you love me, fine, and if you don’t love me, it’s your loss.”

The actor has indeed worked hard for the role and has faced numerous challenges in his early career to get to the place where he’s standing now. Garfield also revealed struggling to find roles, and finally, after a long journey, he found his first role in Robert Redford‘s Lions for Lambs.

The Under the Silver Lake actor’s breakthrough role after which he rose to fandom was in the 2010 film The Social Network directed by renowned and celebrated director David Fincher. This biographical drama featuring Mark Zuckerberg’s story earned Andrew Garfield immense appraisals, after which the actor started getting notable roles.

Andrew Garfield Loved Spiderman Since He Was a Child

Portraying the flawless superhero whom Andrew Garfield embraced from the tender age of a three-year-old child must be nothing less than a dream come true. The Mainstream actor revealed that he loved the webhead since he was three years old and was fond of him. Garfield added “I’ve loved Spider-Man since I was three years old.” while expressing his passion for Spiderman. The Boy A star also shared his commitment to playing the role and said:

“I was in the gym a lot. I ate soup and berries. I trained at Parkour and Yoga. I helped with the script. I need to nourish that child who is out there watching.”

Andrew Garfield then reprised his role in the MCU’s Spider-Man: No Way Home alongside Tom Holland and Tobey Maguire. The actor’s return was commended equally just as the other two actors and Garfield mentioned that this recent movie provided him to connect more with the character. He added:

“Every single one of us had our own version of that character and we didn’t know how they were going to interact, until they were actually interacting in the room together. So it was as if you were making a low-budget short film with friends. And it was the biggest movie in the history of movies.”

The Breathe star also has an amazing story behind his casting as Spiderman for the first time, as director Marc Webb told Y! Entertainment that he was impressed by Andrew Garfield while he was eating a cheeseburger, and the rest is history!
