“I’m hoping to be retired”: Kelly Ripa Hints Retirement From Own Talk Show After Mystery Illness, Wants to Join Madonna as a Supermodel
The talk show host, who started her acting career with a soap opera, has made a name for herself. The Live With Kelly and Ryan host has been with the show since 2001 and fans love to see her onscreen alongside her co-host, Ryan Seacrest. Ripa has been having some health issues for the past few days. However, as she started to feel a little better she rejoined Seacrest.
But seeing that the host was barely able to talk, the producers of the show suggested Ripa should take a little break and get some rest. And as the show host said that she is planning to join Madonna as a backup dancer, fans are concerned that she might be planning to leave the talk show.
Kelly Ripa Feels Frustrated Over Her Ongoing Illness
Kelly Ripa has been facing several health issues for the past few days. The talk show host had to miss out on some episodes of her show, Live With Kelly And Ryan, due to her illness. She shared a snap of herself saying, “Day six of nothing wrong with me.”
The All My Children star allegedly went to the doctors, who told her that she has a “random thing.” When she returned to the show she was barely able to talk. Fans started sharing their concern after seeing her on the show. After returning to the show followed by a short break, Ripa shared that she was asked to take a leave and get better.
Ripa also joked about her retirement saying, “I’m going to need some time off. At that point, I’m hoping to be retired. If I’m still doing, you all have an obligation, ok?”
However, she still did not seem very well. The talk show host also shared that she wants to take a break and join Madonna as a backup dancer for her next tour. She said that the pop icon is looking for “supermodels and dancers” aged between 50 and 90.
Kelly Ripa on Leaving Live With Kelly And Ryan
Kelly Ripa shared her thoughts about leaving Live With Kelly and Ryan during an interview. She shared that she thinks about her retirement from the show all the time. “Oh, gosh! I think about it all the time. I’ve been quiet quitting for at least 10 years, maybe 15,” she said.
The talk show host shared that she wants to introduce someone new as the co-host herself. She said, “I do believe in shepherding in somebody new. I would like to — in the not-too-distant future — see that somebody gets to ingratiate themselves into our audiences’ life.”
Talking about when that time would be she said that the decision does not rely on her only as “she’s not the only one involved in the decision.” As for now, the show host doesn’t seem to be going anywhere and the fans are wishing her to get well soon.
