Hynes White was mainly known for his role as Xavier Thorpe in Netflix’s popular horror comedy show, Wednesday. Unfortunately, the actor got embroiled in controversy with multiple s*xual misconduct allegations. And in response to the accusation, the actor defended it, saying it was just a false rumor. However, as per the latest reports, Hynes White has been eliminated from the show in light of the accusations.

Actor, Percy Hynes White is particularly known for his portrayal of Xavier Thorpe in Jennifer Ortega’s popular Netflix series, Wednesday. It was January, and the actor was confronted with multiple assault allegations. In the aftermath of this, an insider from the show reported that the actor was abruptly removed from the series. According to the Daily Mail, it was after nine months, the show decided to remove the accused, Hynes White. The news of his removal from Xavier Thorpe was confirmed by a close source to his family.
Reports claimed that in January, the 22-year-old actor s*xually harassed a woman at a party he hosted in Toronto. He and his friends offered drugs and alcohol to underage girls to have s*x with them. The woman wrote in her X post, “He assaulted me at one of those parties while I was too drunk, and he had cornered, pressured, and assaulted multiple of my friends”, and later the post was deleted.
Following the initial accusation’s popularity, similar claims started to circulate on X. Soon after this, many Wednesday fans rallied around Hynes White, demanding to get him removed from the show.
Support surges for Percy Hynes White: “Respectful man”
At the same time, some insiders came out in support of Hynes White on X (Twitter), describing him as a “remarkable young man” and another as “respectful, gracious, talented, and professional”. They allege that White is an innocent and polite person, and for Netflix to drop his name is just a disgrace. “It was just a false rumor. It’s just not right,” added the insider. In addition, renowned socialite Andrew Tate also offered his backing for White, commenting “Innocent until proven guilty”.
Percy Hynes White called out allegations against him by responding on the Instagram post where he demonstrated his innocence stating the allegations are untrue.
“Earlier this year, somebody I’ve never met started a campaign of misinformation about me online. Because of this, my family has been doxxed, and my friends have received death threats. The rumors are false. I can’t accept the portrayal of me as someone bigoted or criminally negligent of people’s safety. These are the kind of baseless, harmful claims that can create mistrust toward victims.”

His parents, Sherry White and Joel Thomas Hynes, both of whom were actors and writers, firmly denied the accusations made against their son. According to a Daily Mail report, his mother opposed all the claims, addressing them as “campaigns of misinformation”, and expressed their strong sense of willingness to face any criticism or backlash that comes against their son.
Thus, the allegation against the actor sparked debate and questioned ethics and safety in the show, which consequently made the Wednesday strike off his name. Hynes White has been captivating the audience with his portrayal of Xavier Thorpe in season 1 of Wednesday. The protagonist, Xavier Thorpe, is a student at Nevermore Academy who possesses magical powers that allow the artwork to come to life. He also played the romantic interest of Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega).
