Gwyneth Paltrow has been engaged in a controversial ski crash trial in Utah over an incident that happened in 2016. This incident quickly gained major public attention when Terry Sanderson went into an offensive mode to sue the actress for the mishappening. Their issue was addressed in a courtroom that has finally announced its verdict after hearing both sides.
She is prominently known for her portrayal of Pepper Potts in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films. Gwyneth Paltrow Addressed Why She Countersued Terry Sanderson in The Ski Collision Trial
The 50-year-old actress, Gwyneth Paltrow won the Ski Collision trial after legally fighting with a retired doctor, Terry Sanderson. She shared an Instagram story on Thursday post about winning the lawsuit and showed her gratitude to the people who gave their time and thoughtfulness to this case.
“I am pleased with the outcome and I appreciate all of the hard work of Judge Holmberg and the jury, and thank them for their thoughtfulness in handling this case.”
Opening up about the ski trial, she gave a subtle hint as to why she chose to counterclaim a retired optometrist. She wrote,
“I felt that acquiescing to a false claim compromised my integrity.”
In the lawsuit, it was ruled that the latter, who filed the lawsuit was completely at fault for the ski collision despite his blaming the star. The actress was even reported to be showing off a slight smile upon hearing the verdict.
Terry Sanderson Was Reportedly Not Satisfied With The Outcome of The Ski Crash Trial
Soon after the verdict regarding the trial was announced, Sanderson told Extra that he was “very disappointed” with the results. He also revealed that the GOOP founder showed her kind gesture to the retired optometrist by stating, “‘I wish you well.’ Very kind of her.”
When asked whether he think the actress lied in the courtroom, he shared,
“I believe she thinks she has the truth… but I absolutely know I said I would not bring any falsehoods.”
The Marvel star collided with him at the Deer Valley Resort in Utah in 2016. The case resurfaced once again when the latter filed a lawsuit against the actress for causing the collision and demanded $300,000 in damages. He claimed that the incident caused him “a brain injury, four broken ribs, and other serious injuries.”
He even claimed that the actress “turned and skied” away on the slopes meanwhile the actress continuously denied those accusations. She countersued him claiming that he was the one who hit her and demanded a symbolic $1 in damages as well as her attorneys’ fees. She eventually won the trial which cleared her of any wrongdoing in the incident and was awarded $1 for her counterclaim.
