Rings of Power Stars Slam Racist Trolls For Opposing Diverse Casting

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power had to face criticism from toxic trolls for its diversity, but the show’s cast members are in no mood to buy it. The Amazon Original show debuted on Amazon Prime Video last September. The show garnered lots of positive reviews from fans and critics, but it also suffered backlash from toxic fans for the racial diversity of its cast. However, most of the cast members have decided to fire back at the trolls.

One of the cast members, actor Owain Arthur told Variety at the Monte-Carlo Television Festival,

“I mean, it is infuriating,” He further added, “Like, you go, ‘Oh, God, really? Are we still there as a human race?’ That drives me wild — the guys have been through a lot. To be on the receiving end of things — and I hope one day, we will, as a human race, just be one. I mean, it sounds kind of maybe pathetic or dramatic what I’m saying here, but, genuinely, just stop racism.”

On the other hand actor, Cynthia Addai-Robinson commented that she wishes to skip the troll’s hate comments and move ahead as the show progresses toward its second season. Some of the actors also received death threats and direct attacks. Actor Ismael Cruz Córdova revealed,

“My phone got hacked. I had bank account attempts of being hacked. My PayPal got hacked. My friends got messages. I got death threats. I got things mailed to me. People found out my address. It was a lot of that.”

While the stars love their fans, no one deserves such extreme reactions from their fans and the cast members ensured to not mind any of it.
