“It is very emotionally draining for me”: Selena Gomez Fans Will be Crying Violent Tears After Singer Reveals Whether She’ll Ever Go on a Tour Again
Selena Gomez is regarded as one of the most influential artists worldwide. She has successfully established herself as a singer-songwriter-actress and, over the last few years, as a businesswoman. She began her career on Barney & Friends as a child actress and later emerged as a teen idol, starring as Alex Russo on Wizards of Waverly Place from 2007 to 2012.
In 2015, Gomez released her second solo album, Revival, followed by her 2013 debut album, Stars Dance. Revival is a collection of her journey from 2013 until 2015, which included the public scrutiny surrounding her relationship at the time. The album met with positive reviews from critics and her fans and was followed by her third studio album, Rare, in 2020. Just like Revival, Rare was like her diary from the past few years and received a positive response. Selena Gomez has now opened up about whether she’s up for a world tour or not.
Selena Gomez finally reveals if she is ready to go on a world tour
Singer-songwriter Selena Gomez is without a doubt one of the biggest artists in the world, and her fans admire her. But it’s been a long time since she’s been on tour. In 2016, the singer was in the middle of her Revival World Tour when she decided to pull out and later revealed that she had been struggling with anxiety and depression. Gomez shared with People magazine at the time,
As many of you know, around a year ago, I revealed that I have lupus, an illness that can affect people in different ways. I have discovered that anxiety, panic attacks, and depression can be side effects of lupus, which can present their challenges.
The singer added that she wants to be proactive and focus on getting better, and would be taking time off to prioritize her happiness. She thanked her fans for their continuous support, adding that they should know how special they are to her. She hoped that by addressing her issues, someone who might be dealing with the same thing would be encouraged to speak. Selena Gomez has used her platform to talk about mental health and has tried to help her fans deal with the same.
In her recent interview with Time Magazine, she was finally asked if she was ready to go on a world tour, to which she said,
Nothing makes me happier than 90 minutes of being with my fans and celebrating together. But it is very emotionally draining for me. And then you realize you’re just surrounded by a bunch of people that you’re paying.
Gomez’s 2022 documentary, My Mind and Me, offered her fans a deeper look at her mental health. Her fans have always supported her decisions, and despite her being skeptical about the tour, they are always there to support her.
Selena Gomez wins the Best Actress award at the Cannes Film Festival for Emilia Pérez
The actress, who appeared in Jacques Audiard’s Emilia Pérez alongside Zoe Saldana, Karla Sofia Gascón, and Adriana Paz, won the Best Actress Award at the 77th Cannes Film Festival along with the other leading ladies. She shared a sweet message about winning the award.
Thank you so much, Cannes Film Festival, and the whole board.
Gomez decided to share a clip in which Barbie director Greta Gerwig, who served as the jury president, was talking about the decision. She noted that the actresses, who are so different from each other, do an exceptional job of playing their parts in the movie as a whole. The filmmaker added that the movie explored the relationship between sisters, and everyone shone with their characters.
The actresses appeared as a unit in the movie, and to separate them felt like undermining the magic of what they had created. Hence, all of them won the Best Actress Award at the Cannes.
In her interview with the Associated Press, Gomez acknowledged what acting again in Spanish meant to her. She said that she is honored to be a part of the movie, but feels that she could have done better in Spanish. Gomez added that the movie was challenging, but she hopes that she managed to deliver a good performance.
Selena Gomez will soon wrap up the fourth season of Only Murders in the Building. All three seasons are streaming on Hulu.
