Marvel Executive talked about fan casting
Recently, Black Panther Wakanda Forever producer Sarah Finn talked about the pressure of Fan casting on ‘This Week in Marvel podcast’. She admitted how Marvel is secretive about its projects and wants to make the casting decision work.
“I think that it affects us just in terms of always, it’s not like we already don’t show up wanting to do our best every day and hoping that we’re gonna get it right all the time, but I think if anything, we want so badly to make it work, make it fun, make everyone enjoy it, and be successful for the fans. So I think it just adds to that sense of pressure, responsibility, and passion.”
Actors who have been fan-cast in the MCU
Top Gun Maverick’s star Tom Cruise was the first victim of fan casting and his rumor to take on the role of Superior Iron Man was in the talks for the years. According to rumors, Keanu Reeves was in the talks for the role of Ghost Rider. Another major character was Wolverine. Earlier it was speculated that Danielle Radcliffe could be the next Wolverine. Jungle Cruise actor Emily Blunt was also fan-casted by many fans to take on the role of Sue Storm after Reed Richards was introduced in the MCU.
While the list of fan casting does not seem to end, one can never know what trick Marvel would play on its fans.
Since many of the fans are still fan casting their favorite actor in the MCU, Marvel’s latest Thor: Love and Thunder is running in theatres
