Taylor Lautner Recalled Taylor Swift’s Reaction At the 2009 VMAs
Kanye West interrupting Taylor Swift’s speech at the VMAs took over the headlines at the time. Swift, who won the Best Female Music Video of the Year for You Belong With Me, was interrupted by the rapper, Kanye West claiming that Beyonce had a better music video than her.
Taylor Lautner recalled the incident during the recent episode of The Squeeze. His wife, Taylor Dome asked him about the moment he would like to go back if he could. “Probably the 2009 VMAs,” Taylor Lautner said. However, as the All Too Well singer started her acceptance speech, Kanye West jumped on the stage taking a stand for Beyonce’s Single Ladies. The Abduction star shared that at first, he thought that all of it was planned. He said, “When I presented the award to Taylor and was unaware that the Kanye [West] thing was not a skit.”
But after West finished up and Taylor Swift turned back, he realized none of it was planned. “She turned back around and I saw her face for the first time, I was like, ‘Oh. No, that wasn’t good,'” Lautner said. This was not the first time the Home Team star shared his regret over not doing anything at the time.
