“It puts you in a good mood”: Kelly Ripa Disagrees With Mark Consuelos for Morning Routine as ‘Live’ Hosts Start With Disappointing Debut After Ryan Seacrest’s Exit
Ryan Seacrest’s name had become synonymous with Live. The American Idol host replaced Michael Strahan as Kelly Ripa’s co-host in 2017. The duo sparked a bond that would see Live dominate television ratings for the years that followed. The co-hosts’ chemistry was off the charts. Yet all good things must come to an end.
Seacrest has announced that he intends to leave Live once and for all. The 48-year-old has been replaced by Mark Consuelos, a regular guest feature on the show. But the new hosting duo has not been off to the start everyone must have been hoping for.

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos‘ first day at Live started in the most unpleasant fashion – with a disagreement between the couple of 27 years. Voicing some of their major concerns about co-hosting, the duo gave a rundown of their morning routine – one of the many aspects of their life which they’ve had to adjust.
Mornings used to be quite relaxed for the Husband for Hire star as their schedules never collided. Multifarious problems have followed, one of them being that the couple will have to work out the time they do their daily chores, including using the bathroom.
Familiar dance, different hook steps
They have worked out a solution though, with the 52-year-old veteran saying, “It’s a dance that we’ve done in the past.” She added, “[We have] a nice-sized bathroom, but we do share it.” Mark Consuelos chimed in, recollecting how he would jump in and get out quickly. The same plan will continue in action.
Ripa is not very satisfied with this arrangement, as the 51-year-old won’t leave the water running. She said, “He takes cold showers.” with her husband confirming that he is used to “freezing, freezing cold showers.” The Hope & Faith star couldn’t help but disagree with her man on this one.
Kelly Ripa on what gets her day started on the right note
Ripa said,
“It’s the craziest thing I’ve ever heard. I would rather do anything than that. I would rather walk across potholes.”
Speaking about her own preference, she revealed, “I like my shower piping hot.” For her that is the perfect way to kick start the day. The All My Children star continued,
“I can be thankful and have a hot shower. I want to be able to cook a chicken in my shower if I need to!”
The playful teasing was expected to be a part of the new era of Live with Kelly and Mark. But the result was not as expected, as the new era seems to have been off to a shaky start.
