“It ripped my heart out”: Idris Elba Hated Returning for $644M Marvel Movie With Chris Hemsworth for the Strangest Reason

Idris Elba, the star who was part of the MCU by starring in Chris Hemsworth’s Thor franchise, hated to return to it. The actor didn’t want to return to play Heimdall in Thor: The Dark World.

Idris Elba hated his experience with MCU
Idris Elba made his debut on-screen in the late 1990s. His career in the US provided him with a path to success as he went on to star in tons of movies and series. The 50-year-old actor is also a highly regarded actor who has won several accolades throughout his performing career.
Elba was part of Marvel as he played Heimdall in the Thor and Avengers films. Being part of the MCU majorly impact’s an actor career and brings them the necessary fame. However, the 50-year-old absolutely hated his Marvel experience.
The actor after eight months playing Nelson Mandela, had to return to MCU to reshoot for Thor: The Dark World. Elba didn’t want to return to the franchise and expressed frustration about his experience. The Suicide Squad actor publicly spoke about his experience. He said,
“I’m actually falling down from a spaceship, so they had to put me in harness in this green-screen studio. And in between takes, I was stuck there, fake hair stuck onto my head with glue, this fucking helmet, while they reset.”
The No Good Deed actor had to return to Marvel due to contractual obligations. He called the return as torture. The 50-year-old added,
“I’m thinking: ‘24 hours ago, I was Mandela.’ … Then there I was, in this stupid harness, with this wig and this sword and these contact lenses. It ripped my heart out.”

A Look into Idris Elba’s acting career
Idris Elba had made quite a name in the entertainment industry. Bron in Hackney, London, the British actor made his debut on the screen in the late 90s. Elba began his acting career in the TV shows The Bill, Bramwell, The Governor, Family Affairs, Ultraviolet, and London’s Burning, where he played both guest and minor roles.
He appeared in a supporting part in Gabriel Aghion’s French film Belle Maman, which was released in 1999. The 50-year-old became well-known for playing the lead in the British criminal thriller series The Wire.
Elba won praise from critics for playing the lead role in Luther when it debuted in 2010. He rose to fame after starring in the superhero films Thor in 2011 and Thor: The Dark World in 2013. In the 2013 film Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, he plays the revolutionary Nelson Mandela.
The actor also works as a DJ, producer, and director. His voice acting career has also been successful starting in 2016 with Zootopia.
