“It was a horrible sound to listen”: Jeremy Renner’s Neighbor Reveals Excruciating Details of Marvel Actor’s Accident After Blood Came Out of His Eyes
The recent interview with Diane Sawyer reveals many insufferable details about the ill-fated start, Jeremy Renner had to the year. The snowplow accident might just have changed the way he looks at the world forever. Getting one’s bones pulverized by a seven-ton giant of a machine is not a fun experience. Since the incident took place, the Hawkeye actor did not quite get a chance to share the horrors he had to live through. Therefore, he decided to do a tell-all interview spilling all the details of an incident he will now forever be haunted by.
The Good Morning America interview brought out and highlighted some of the never before seen side of the incident as well as everyone’s favorite Jeremy Renner. The neighbor, present at the event, who saved his life, shared painful details.
What happened to Jeremy Renner?
In the special episode titled Jeremy Renner: The Diane Sawyer Interview — A Story of Terror, Survival, and Triumph, the host Diane Sawyer along with her guest Jeremy Renner delves deep into the life-altering incident that he faced a few months prior. It was the holiday season, and he was just helping his nephew to get his car out of the 3 feet of snowfall that accumulated the night before.
That is exactly when he pulled out his snowcat, to assist but got run over by the 14,300-lb. snowplow instead. He was immediately airlifted from the scene to the hospital. It was a horrific sight to witness for those who did. The local authorities stated,
“Upon arrival, Deputies coordinated with Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and REMSA Health to arrange for medical transport of Mr. Jeremy Renner via care flight to a local area hospital,”
The list of his injuries includes more than 30 broken bones, both of his legs got severely injured, his lungs punctured, and his liver in even worse condition. But Renner did not let these injuries break his spirit. He has now recovered from the majority of the damages pretty quickly and is still on the road to recovery.

Jeremy Renner’s neighbor’s account of the incident
His neighbor Rich Kovach and Barb Fletcher are the ones who came to his rescue first. Therefore during the tell-all interview, they shared their side of the story with the general public. Kovach said to the host Diane Sawyer,
“He had some blood coming out of his ears, his nose for sure. And then his eye, it looked like it had been pushed out,”
Fletcher then further added his version,
“It was a horrible sound to listen to someone, just literally watching somebody die in front of you, and you feel so helpless,”
Kovach then could only sum up the ghastly sight as,
“This is the sound of someone that was dying,”
She then further explained the blood pool around the actor overwhelmed her and said,
“At one point, he just got clammy feel to him, he turned this gray-green color and I feel in my heart that I feel like we lost him for a second,–He closed his eyes. And I just tried to keep him awake.”
For her, the horror of the scene was too much to bear, the amount of blood, screams, and pain Renner was suffering, coupled with her powerlessness to help him, filled her with dread. The Hawkeye actor was struggling to breathe as his head was cracked open, Fletcher thus grabbed a towel to help the situation but it did not seem to work.
The details of the incident are truly horrendous and the pain Renner went through is beyond imagination. His neighbors along with his fans are glad he was able to make a return. He is now doing significantly well and is grateful for all the people around him.
