“It was awful, it was crazy”: Elizabeth Olsen Felt Scared While Shooting HBO’s ‘Love and Death’
Elizabeth Olsen has recently starred in a crime drama show called Life & Death and moreover, she is the one who is playing the killer as well. But it was in no way an easy process for her, as she herself claimed. Dark and grim roles like this, in addition to being violent might not be her cup of tea. The WandaVision star opened up about the difficulties in filming, specifically describing a few scenes that were a bit too hard on her.
Elizabeth Olsen had a problem shooting this scene with her Love & Death co-star Lily Rabe
Elizabeth Olsen recently did an interview with The Hollywood Reporter where she opened up about the experience of portraying Candy Montgomery in the latest HBO series Love & Death. She specifically talked about the shooting of a pivotal murder scene with Lily Rabe, her co-star who plays Betty Gore. The Wind River actor said,
“Lily was six months pregnant. It was awful. She had a double. And they also could erase [her belly] in post. But she was in a little shirt with a six-month belly! It was crazy.”
Adding to her fear, she described Rabe’s enthusiasm as well as she said about her, “And she really wanted to do everything.”
Olsen went on to praise the American Horror Story actor and said,
“Lily is a really physically strong human being, and so it was like real tension, physically.”
Sounds like quite a day at work for the 34-year-old.

Elizabeth Olsen had to say no to a terribly violent scene
Going further into detailing her experience, the Sorry For Your Loss actor said,
“And there was an element where I felt safe because we had choreography, but there was an element where I didn’t want to do everything. So, it was a lot of things.”
Olsen has been a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Wanda Maximoff, or Scarlet Witch, for almost ten years now. First appearing in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, she explained how the fighting in her latest HBO series was unlike the fighting she is generally used to.
She explained,
“My experience with more fight sequences isn’t hand-to-hand fighting. And so, it felt kind of scary at times.”
She also shared details of a scene she had to leave because it just got too much for her, saying,
“And then there were moments where Lily asked me to, with the rubber axe, make contact with her body. And I tapped out and was like, ‘You’re going to have to do this with my stunt double’.”
Love & Death is currently streaming on HBO Max.
