“It’s a careful dance”: Ryan Reynolds Reportedly Put Ex-Wife Scarlett Johansson Under Such a Spell Even Current Wife Blake Lively Did Everything to Avoid Her
Famous for playing the role of Deadpool, Ryan Reynolds is considered one of the best actors in Hollywood. He and his wife Blake Lively are one of the most adored couples in Hollywood now. However, at one point in time, the relationship attracted a lot of negative attention because of Reynold’s split from his first wife Scarlett Johansson.
Both Scarlett Johansson are widely known for their acting prowess, but despite attending the same events, they barely ever cross paths. After so many years, one would think that they have made peace, but that does not seem to be the case.
Blake Lively is Reportedly as Careful as Ryan Reynolds about Not Crossing Paths with Scarlett Johansson
Married in 2008, American actress Scarlett Johansson and Canadian-American actor Ryan Reynolds were a couple to admire. However, the flame of their marriage didn’t burn for long enough and they divorced in 2011.

Reportedly, Johansson was not comfortable with Reynolds embracing American actress Blake Lively immediately after their divorce (via Us Weekly). She was allegedly resentful of the marriage between Reynolds and Lively and blamed the latter for stealing Reynolds from her (via The UBJ).
Blake Lively allegedly continuously makes attempts to keep Reynolds and Johansson away from each other. Both Reynolds and Lively navigate events and red carpets carefully so as not to bump into Johansson out of the blue. A source told Life and Style:
“Since they both live in New York and attend similar events and red carpets for museums or charities, it’s a careful dance to make sure they are not at the same place.”
It would be absolutely awkward to cross paths when there’s so much at stake. Lively’s precautionary steps are understandable.
Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson Moved on with New Partners
After their separation in 2011, Ryan Reynolds married Blake Lively in 2012. There wasn’t a huge gap between the divorce and the second marriage. This made things seem suspicious as it had not been long since his divorce. The split was certainly not on amicable terms, but they have often spoken of each other publicly.
Johansson married journalist Romain Dauriac 3 years after the divorce. However, her relationship with Dauriac lasted longer as they were married for three years before they decided to part ways in 2017.

The Lost in Translation actress made her third romantic encounter with American comedian and writer, Colin Jost. She got married to Jost in October 2020 and they have been in a healthy relationship ever since. Both Reynolds and Johansson share children with their current partners. Hopefully, they will put their differences aside in the future and can at least stand crossing paths in public without any qualms.
