“It’s a real problem”: Matt Damon Had One Major Problem With Cillian Murphy In ‘Oppenheimer’
After a long wait, finally the new Christoper Nolan biographical thriller, Oppenheimer has made its way to screens. The movie is worth the hype, as fans are now busy looking for tickets in IMAX theatres to get glimpses behind the making of the first atomic bomb, we have revelations coming out from the casts who have appeared in the movie.
Cillian Murphy has been known for perfection where in every shot he is the one who looks to make it perfect, however, he was among the cast who had immense pressure while shooting for the movie. But, there are few cast members including the famous Matt Damon who said, “It’s a real problem”.
Matt Damon Talks About His Experience with Cillian Murphy
Cillian Murphy who is playing the lead role for the movie did put up a great performance. However, when the other cast were asked to talk about their experience while shooting for the 57-day long shoot. The Interstellar star shared:
“It’s a real problem when you’re doing scene work with Cillian. Sometimes you find yourself just swimming in his eyes.” Matt Damon shared it with People.
Matt Damon talks about how Murphy was with the cast on the movie set. He just had a few complaints about him his deep blue eyes which keeps them submerged into his eyes. Even Blut supported his statement by saying,
“It’s like that ‘Ocean Eyes’ song by Billie Eilish. We just hum it all day.”
Adding more to it, he has praised the A Quiet Place star on his acting skills in the movie. It’s not only him but in fact the other cast in the movie have also praised his dedication and performance in the movie.

Damon shared that he watched the three hours long movies after the post-production got over. And, we were quite impressed with the realistic and natural performance set by Murphy.
Emily Blunt Opens Up About Her Experience While Working With Cillian Murphy for Oppenheimer
Emily Blunt, who appears as the female lead in the movie shared that it felt like the whole cast was up for a ‘summer camp’ and they were living together in Nex Mexico’s production base.
“We were all in the same hotel in the middle of the New Mexican desert,” Blunt said. “We only had each other. Me and Matt were roommates and we were like, ‘Let’s go to have dinner.’”
Blunt talked about having a good time with the cast, specifically Damon who was also her roommate during the entire shoot.
“Murphy did not attend because the sheer volume of what he had to take on and shoulder is so monumental,” she added.
Talking about Murphy, the Mary Poppins star shared that the Peaky Blinder star never used to participate in any such group activities including having dinner with the whole cast, well it was mostly because of his strict diet. He was also among the cast who has that “talk-less, work-more” kind of mindset.
Cillian Murphy Talks About His Experience Shooting for Oppenheimer
The lead actor in Oppenheimer‘s movie also shared his experience while working for acclaimed directors like Nolan. It was the first time for him to get such a big chance to work in a parallel with globally praised director.
“He’s so understated and self-deprecating and, in his very English manner, just said, ‘Listen, I’ve written this script, it’s about Oppenheimer. I’d like you to be my Oppenheimer,’” Murphy said.
“It was a great day… We have this long-standing understanding and trust and shorthand and respect. It felt like the right time to take on a bigger responsibility. And it just so happened that it was a huge one.”
He talks about how the leading star and the director had that understanding as well as trust and a similar vision to bring the best results onto the screens.
The star immediately showed his interest to play the lead star in the movie after getting impressed with the conversation he had with Nolan.
