Barbie was released on the same day as Christopher Nolan‘s historical epic biography Oppenheimer and is also considered an Oscar-worthy film. With Barbie‘s enormous success, Greta Gerwig is now considered the first woman to direct a billion-dollar movie that broke table records including superhero films of Marvel.
Robbie’s movie is set to compete with other remarkable films like Oscar winner Emma Stone‘s Poor Things, Martin Scorsese‘s Killers of the Flower Moon featuring Leonardo DiCaprio, and not to forget Nolan’s massive hit Oppenheimer starring acclaimed actor Cillian Murphy as the father of the Atomic bomb. The competition is indeed tough and it would be notable to witness who wins the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.
