“It’s really upsetting”: Jennifer Lawrence’s Honest Revelation About How the Liam Hemsworth Affair Rumors Affected Her Life

Jennifer Lawrence is one of the most influential actresses in the industry and is admired by fans for her goofy and outspoken personality. She rose to prominence after she appeared as mutant Mystique in X-Men films from 2011-2019. She later went on to appear as Katniss Everdeen alongside Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth in The Hunger Games from 2012 to 2015, which made her establish herself as an action actress.

Lawrence got married to Cooke Maroney, an art gallery director, and they share a son, Cy. The couple is gearing up to welcome their second child, but fans decided to dig into Lawrence’s past relationship, and one significant name that popped up is Liam Hemsworth.

Jennifer Lawrence sets the record straight about her relationship with Liam Hemsworth

Jennifer Lawrence appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen last year in June, where the host had asked her the question that everyone wanted to know. During the Plead the Fifth section of the show, Cohen asked Lawrence if she ever had a fling with her The Hunger Games co-star Liam Hemsworth while he was still dating pop icon Miley Cyrus.

Andy Cohen reminded Lawrence that there had been a lot of chatter about the fact that Cyrus’ music video Flowers was referencing a secret fling between her and the actor who at the time was dating Cyrus. Lawrence immediately replied by stating that it was NOT TRUE. She continued:

Not true, total rumor. I mean, we all know Liam and I kissed one time. It was years after they’d broken up. So I just assumed that [the dress] was, like, a coincidence.

Miley Cyrus wore a golden dress in her music video, which fans thought looked exactly like Lawrence’s dress, which she wore to the 2012 Los Angeles premiere of The Hunger Games.

But back in 2015, Lawrence opened up about her off-screen kiss with Hemsworth on WWHL, stating that their romantic relationship did not go further. However, it’s been a long time, and now when the actress has to read news that is not true, as she stated,

If five people at a party think you slept with somebody’s boyfriend, it’s really upsetting. And then you multiply it by—I’m not good at the math—eight billion.

Lawrence at the time had to deal with people’s judgment after it was rumored that she got involved with her co-star. It’s hurtful because firstly it was not true and secondly, it goes to show that people would believe anything they read online. 

Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus were one of the most loved couples in the industry, but their on-and-off relationship was confusing for the fans. The two of them got engaged in 2016 and then got married in 2018 before calling it off in 2019.

Cyrus has since then addressed the fact that her marriage did not end because of cheating. She wrote on Twitter (via Today),

I can admit to a lot of things but I refuse to admit that my marriage ended because of cheating. I can accept that the life I’ve chosen means I must live completely open and transparent with my fans, who I love, and the public, 100% of the time. What I cannot accept is being told I’m lying to cover up a crime I haven’t committed. I have nothing to hide.

Cyrus, in her interview with British Vogue, described her song Flowers as ‘little fake it till you make it kinda,’ which she is a big fan of.

Jennifer Lawerence opens up about being a part of Breads and Roses

The actress who is expecting her second child with husband Cooke Maroney recently opened up about being a part of the upcoming Apple movie Breads and Roses.

The movie is directed by Sahra Mani and has Malala Yousafzai attached to it as the executive producer, goes into detail about the impact on women of the Taliban’s return to power in Afghanistan and how three women fight to recover their autonomy.

My family and friends definitely encouraged me not to. It’s dangerous—of course it is. But there are 20 million women whose lives are in danger.

Somewhere else in the interview, Lawrence noted that because she dropped out of middle school, she is technically not educated. She continued that the common criticism with this specific subject has been: Why is someone without an education trying to talk about politics?

To which she said that it’s not political; it’s people’s lives. The actress explained that she is educated in filmmaking and telling stories, and that is exactly what she is doing.
