Among her nearly 3 million Instagram followers, the reality star turned entrepreneur shares bluntly honest reviews on everything from drugstore primers to high-end face masks. She’s also been vocal about her distaste for filters and unrealistic beauty ideals. The actress posted a candid video detailing cosmetic procedures she has had and plans to get in the future.
Bethenny Frankel’s Plastic Surgery Tour
To be honest with her fans, the Real Housewives of New York City alum Bethany Frankel said she was “seriously considering” going under the knife again. In the Instagram video titled “The Plastic Surgery Tour Part One,” she admitted that she feels a responsibility to be upfront, given her recent focus on beauty.
Frankel said,
“Let’s have the plastic surgery conversation. I owe it to you to be totally transparent with you because I entered into this beauty space… I feel a responsibility based on the fact that we’ve been talking about skin and beauty, and it would just be fraudulent for me to do something and then act like this was natural. I went on a plastic surgery tour.”
According to her, she previously had “Botox” injected into her jaw to sculpt her face, filler “once,” and a breast lift “15 years ago.”
Furthermore, she explained,
“That’s not all I will do, however. I like the way I look. I’m okay. I don’t even think I really need it. The only reason I would contemplate this is that I will eventually do this, I believe. And I don’t want to do it later when everything is hanging.”
Frankel, who often posts her pictures without makeup or filters online, captioned the clip,
“In today’s world of filters and face tune and people being outright dishonest about how they look… it’s important that I remain transparent about my physical appearance, especially now that I’m in this beauty space.”
Later in the clip, she explained that she had been on a consultation tour for plastic surgery and said,
“I’m thinking very seriously about plastic surgery… and I want to share with you all the reasons why. I will eventually do this. I want to look like myself. I just want a little help along the way.”
While Frankel did not specify what type of surgery or procedure she was considering or planning, it’s safe to assume that she’ll share the details with followers and fans. Frankel also acknowledged that some of her followers might disagree with the reality star’s stance on cosmetic procedures.
Bethenny Frankel Slammed Kim Kardashian For Fake Beauty Standards
Reality TV legend Bethenny Frankel called out the Kardashian family for their “destructive” Photoshop work. In September, the Real Housewives of New York City alum told TMZ that reality stars’ social media uploads are “not fair to women just getting by,” calling them “irresponsible” and “reckless.”
$80M rich Frankel said,
“Moms feel insecure. … They don’t have time to do all this [Photoshop], nor they even know how to [with] the technology.”
Frankel continued by saying that women can’t compete with Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, and their sisters. She explained,
“The more we see these images, the more we think they’re real. It becomes a false ideal. It’s not inspirational; it’s not aspirational. It creates eating disorders, insecurity, and depression. It’s a serious thing.”
In her advice to the Kardashians, Frankel suggested that they should “wear some makeup” and “be honest” about their plastic surgery rather than “outright lie” about filtering and photoshop.
