Recently, during her appearance on Tuesday’s episode of The View, the Harlem co-stars reflected on their first meeting more than 30 years ago, when Good was beginning her career as an actress. She also revealed that her co-star Whoopi Goldberg was instrumental in helping her get through her separation.

According to Meagan Good, The View co-host Whoopi Goldberg also played a role in her healing process. She explained,

“Whoopi was very instrumental in that,” the actress said of her co-star. “Because we had some good conversations I needed to have that were illuminating and eye-opening for me.”

Harlem is an intriguing series starring Meagan Good and Whoopi Goldberg as two characters working at Columbia University.

When asked about her career plans and starting over, Eve’s Bayou’s actress expresses her desire to work hard on future projects.

“I think in this season (referring to Harlem Season 2), I’m excited about what’s next,” she continued. “I’m like, ‘All right, Lord, if you allowed it, okay, what’s next, Dad?’ It’s exciting for me. I feel like I get to start my life over in some ways and have a second chance at whatever’s supposed to be next.”

Harlem stars Meagan Good, Grace Byers, Jerrie Johnson, and Shoniqua Shandai as four New York City women who explore the love and professional setbacks that come with their 30s.

Meagan Good and Franklin DeVon’s breakup was “a long time coming,” a source told People after the Shazam! actress and her ex-husband announced their decision to divorce in the year 2021 after nine years of marriage.

According to the source,

“Their work schedules often kept them apart, and they just haven’t been spending a lot of time together this past year,” the source says. “When they did have time in their schedules, it’d often just be hours that they’d be able to spend quality time together.”

Both celebrities are now content with their separate lives and excelling in their respective professions.

Good and Franklin married in Malibu, California, in June 2012, after meeting on the set of the 2011 film Jumping the Broom, where he was working as a studio executive. After being together for years, the couple decided to call it quits and filed for divorce in December 2021. 

Season 2 of Harlem will be available on Amazon Prime Video on February 2, 2023.
