Jacob Elordi has shot to stardom after being the heartthrob in the Kissing Booth franchise. He has gone on to do iconic roles in the superhit show Euphoria and personified Elvis Presley in Priscilla. To promote their latest movie Saltburn, Jacob Elordi and Barry Keoghan have been making the rounds on various social media and news publications. In one of the interviews, Elordi was asked about his reaction to playing James Bond.
Will Jacob Elordi Be The Next James Bond?
Various suave and brooding actors like Daniel Craig, Pierce Brosnan, and Sean Connery have embodied the iconic character in the past. The James Bond universe is expansive spanning long decades and a long list of movies. The fictional character by Ian Fleming has sparked interest in many leading men across the industry. The recent rumour states that Jacob Elordi might be the next 007. When asked about this in an interview with Extra, he said,
“Bond? James Bond? Is that what they’re saying? Oh my goodness, wow. That’s beautiful.”
Elordi went on to say that when filmmakers choose him to play such beautiful roles in their projects, he feels great. Like any other actor, it’s always a compliment to hear other directors and producers are eying an actor for a huge role.
When his co-star Barry Keoghan heard this, he offered to play the villain in a movie where Elordi is the 007. “Are you playing Bond?” he asked, “I’ll play your villain in Bond.”
Directed by Emerald Fennell, Saltburn was released on November 17 where a student visits a peer’s house for an eccentric summer. The movie has received rave reviews from audiences and critics alike.
Which Actors Are Good Picks For James Bond?
Aaron Taylor-Johnson from Avengers: Age of Ultron and Bullet Train is one of the primary actors being considered for the James Bond role. His personality and action-packed experience make him a frontrunner. Other than him, Idris Elba is making headlines for being the perfect 007 choice, given his exceptional demeanour and deep voice. If chosen, he will be the first black James Bond.
Tom Ellis aka Lucifer and Tom Hiddleston aka Loki are also in the running to play the global spy known for his charm and intelligence. So many choices make it harder for the studios to pick one actor as it is a huge responsibility to keep fans happy across the globe.
