When it was discovered that Gunn was working on The Brave and the Bold, a new Batman movie that will concentrate on Damian Wayne, Bruce Wayne’s son rumors started to spread online. After playing the Caped Crusader in the divisive 1997 movie Batman & Robin, people wondered if Clooney would play the character again. This sparked rumors of his return. Now fans are more eager and excited to see who will play the role of the infamous Bruce Wayne. There is no set release date for The Brave and the Bold yet because it is still in development. But with Gunn in charge, it will undoubtedly rank among the most eagerly awaited DC movies of the year.

Clooney’s Batman & Robin was a critical and commercial failure

Since its premiere, Batman & Robin (1997) in which George Clooney played the role of Batman generated a lot of discussion and debate and was a critical and commercial failure. Joel Schumacher, who took over the Batman franchise after Tim Burton’s two films, directed the movie. Fans did not enjoy this change in tone because Schumacher’s concept for the Batman films was considerably more campy and lighter than Burton’s.

The movie received harsh criticism for its over-the-top performances, campy dialogue, and overstated representations. Particularly the Batsuit, with its plastic nipples and highly stylized design, was heavily ridiculed. Due to these complaints, Batman & Robin’s box office performance was disappointing, earning only $238 million. The failure of the movie effectively put an end to the Batman movie series for close to ten years. Some critics have reconsidered Batman & Robin in the years since its debut, asserting that it is a cult classic. The movie’s legacy is still generally unfavorable, and it is unlikely that it will ever be regarded as a true classic of the superhero genre.
