The poster’s got Corenswet flying straight up into the air, showing off his comic-accurate suit and iconic red lights. James Gunn and the studios also shared a teaser trailer on his social media, confirming that the first trailer for Superman is going to be released on Thursday.
Eagle-eyed fans noticed that the recently released poster gives a nod to Christopher Reeve’s Superman of 1978. Fans pointed out that if heard closely, the motion poster features a slowed-down interpretation of composer John Williams’ famous Superman theme used in the 1978 movie. The poster shared has used the theme music with a quieter, more thoughtful reimagining, and fans love it.
James Gunn had previously clarified that Superman is not going to be an origin story for the character, adding that with their story, they want to take it away from the good guy vs. the bad guy. I don’t know. Until I see the movie, I don’t know. We did a mix of stuff.
Upon asking about his experience of working with the actors and the director of the movie, who also happens to be the co-CEO of DC Studios, Hoult said James Gunn is brilliant, adding that he’s a wonderful director, writer, and creator. The actor mentioned that he’s very excited to be able to see Corenswet’s take on Superman.
